After playing halo reach I thought it would be a great idea if wildlife where in multiplayer because I thought it would be hilarious if moas(space ostriches) were running around screaming for their lives as people fought on the battlefield or the huge beasts that would run around and cause chaos would make the multiplayer maps more interesting and add more life to them
my worry with Moas is that people will go out of their way to kill them
adding bests to maps, like the GĆŗta from Reach could definitely add an interesting dynamic to infantry-based maps, or maps with few vehicles.

I can already imagine the Hunting gametype in Action Sack.
As for adding them to standard maps in Matchmaking, it wouldnāt hurt unless they were able to somehow effect the match. If Moa were running around on Blood Gulch blocking peopleās shots, then it would be an issue. If it were like the Birds (on Guardian, Zanzibar), the Sentinels (on Construct), or the fish (on Reflection, Highlands, and Tempest) then it wouldnāt be a problem.
Hopefully this will also allow the Space Squirrel and Space Porcupine to come back. May they never be forgotten.
Wildlife would definitely make the maps more dynamic and how awesome would it be to have the ability to be able to add wildlife in forge as well
Also Moas never die, they just go missing in action
Who cares if a Moa would block a shot that would make things more interesting after all, halo players love new challeging things it also makes things a little less repetitive. Imagine if you had three way battles between you, an enemy player and a Guta with Moa running around and getting in the way

Many, many people would care. The competitive/professional gamers would care, a group of friends playing splitscreen would care, many an average Joe would care if their headshot just got blocked by a Moa running around the map.
While dynamic factors on maps are something that is be asked for, never should the game/map effect the game in a way that a player didnāt initiate or canāt control. Put simply, nobody is going to be having fun if a stampede of Moa come running over the hills and kill everyone.

Sounds like more randomness, otherwise known as making things less fair/skill based.
Not really sold on the idea.
CSGO has chickens, but they donāt get in the way or anything. Itās actually interesting that you can use chickens to determine if someone is around the corner by watching their behavior. Iād say that is a pretty unique and amusing way to implement AI into multiplayer.
Having a ton of Moas running around every BTB map though for no real reason, no thanks.
Is this a good idea? That dependsā¦
- Will Halo 5ās netcode support A.I.s in Multiplayer?
- Will it be possible to allow AIs to work on Forge maps?
- Will these AIs interfere with gameplay?
At first glance, Iād like this idea. However, given that there are serious complications with allowing AIs to function on Forge-made structures, and that having Moas running around when Iām trying to gun someone down can really get annoying, Iām going to say no.
I prefer having ambient life outside of the Mapās playable space, such as in Halo 3 where some maps had Birds and/or Sentinels flying in the background.

The rats in Halo 3 were nice too, things like that wouldnāt really effect gameplay.
I would expect that the AI in this upcoming Halo game will be better than what weāve had previously. It shouldnāt be unthinkable for the AI to be able to generate their own paths by avoiding walking into walls. Then again, you would also think that the AI Humans wouldāve become better at driving after almost 10 years.

One of the funnest things I did in Halo 3 was going onto Epitaph and sniping the āDino-birdsā that flew around in the sky. I could even spend hours doing that without growing a speck of boredom.

I always thought that the developers intentionally made the Friendly AIs as stupid as possible to ensure that the player āhas to do all of the workā. But of course, making them unable to do simple tasks such as not driving off cliffs and prioritizing to shoot stronger enemies rather than shooting a dead grunt isnāt a good way to do that.
Perhaps itās because the resources used in coding the Friendly AIās took a backseat against making the Enemy AIs be interesting and challenging to fight. Or it may be because their are certain complications to programming Friendly AIs that are absent in programming Enemy AIs.

Yeah, itās really just a cheap way to make the game more ādifficultā when thereās a single player.

The only way I could think of testing that is by playing FF and switching to the Covenant side. Still, I really donāt think thatās it.
I think all of 343i should put most of their efforts into making believable fish AI for multiplayer maps. Nothing is more important to the success of a game than realistic fish!
I can imagine this happening:
āGet the flagā
āTheres no vehicles!ā
āDoesnt matter we have a moaā
The duo ride of to the middle of the map on a moa with the flag.
I fully support this idea (well not the one above though it would be a funny Easter egg) since it would make maps seem more believable. However they shouldnt be too common and not for the sake of it which could ruin certain maps. Since arena like maps are generally forrunner map (not all of them) the sentinels could hover in view but not block lines of sight.
