A.I. - The future of Halo..

hey everyone,

With the release of information today about halo 5 and how awesome it’s gonna be… I thought it’d be the right time to come out with something I’ve been thinking about/debating when it comes to A.I. But not the cute little marines that are hauled off to the slaughterhouse - which usually is a normal function in Halo. I’m talking about an almost living, self aware, intelligent and suggestive A.I. Think Cortana but as a real life A.I.

Bare with me as I try to collect my thoughts and lay them out here…

Wether in Campaign or Multiplayer, you would have a self-aware, suggestive AI, meaning that no matter what situation you encounter the AI can recognize, determine and suggest the best couple of actions to be performed to beat a level, area or a fellow Spartan.

Imagine how an actual AI built to support exactly what you do and face in front of you that suggests you do certain things in order to get through an area or beat fellow opposition - in actual live time. Now don’t get me wrong, this wouldn’t hamper skill and your own decisions, but it would be a nice help feature for getting out of crazy situations. It could be implemented within the radar range and only offer advice to that range. Be able to adapt to previous successful routes where it can choose a number of skills or actions to perform in order to beat campaign levels or multiplayer Spartans.

i understand we could be years away from something like this in any game - let alone halo. Maybe we’ll need better consoles or better computer specs to achieve something so ambitious, but I think something like this would revolutionize gaming and halo period. Also, on the business side, that feature for the future halo 6 or 7 would be a seller on its own.

Thanks.!! And please leave any comments…

That sounds like a great idea especially for multiplayer but that will lower the skill gap and in turn will cause widespread outrage and loss of competitive Halo leagues like what happened in Halo 4.

I disagree. Being told the best course of action is very different from actually being able to do it.

How? How is adding intelligent AIs to the game going cause outrage and make us loss competitive Halo Leagues? It’s not like you have to use them and I doubt all or even many Match making games will use them. They can be good training when you can’t get a group together or don’t have online. There is literally no downside. The only people that would go out of there way to state this shouldn’t be in Halo are people have just think AIs don’t belong in PVP with no good reason.

I always said they should add offline bots in for Custom Games but noooo… No one ever listens to me. Except that one time… It was a Wednesday.

I hope the Ai in halo5 aren’t stupid and actually good at shooting. Its next gen come on please have smart Ai

In the campaign your team ( Blue team if your playing as Chief or Osiris if playing as Locke) can be ordered to perform actions such as focusing fire on a certain enemy or picking up a weapon so it’s safe to assume that the AI’s are going to be more intelligent then before.

Iv’e been wanting bots for offline multiplayer since Combat Evolved came out. And I still want it…

Better or worse Halo will still have the better AI
