Why do people insist that the UNSC needs some kind of melee weapon? It’s impractical. It works and makes sense for the Brutes and Elites because of their physical prowess and cultures. Just think about how ridiculous it would look with marines charging across the battlefield with stun batons.
While I do think your idea is interesting, it would be pretty redundant if implemented into Halo 5 due to how we already have a CQC weapon for the UNSC (The Shotgun) and how it would be very similar to both the Energy Sword and the Gravity Hammer.

Um special operations weapon. Marines aren’t going to be charging into battle with 'em.

The UNSC melee weapon is a combat knife, they don’t really need anything else. Leave those to the Covies or Forerunners.

I dislike the idea of a human melee weapon, especially simply for the sake of a having a human melee weapon.
The combat knife is enough; generally, humans in the Halo universe are quite physically weak, in both strength and endurance, in comparison to the alien races and their weapons.
This is why the strategic, long-to-mid range style of the UNSC has always made more sense than having marines and Spartans charge at, or try to cut down Elites, Jackals and Brutes with machetes - or w/e Saber-sword thing you’re showing us - in close quarters.
Even putting logic aside, again, not worth having for the sake of having it.
We need this in Halo 5! Not for gameplay though, for RvB. Can you imagine Lopez chasing Grif with that thing? Instant hilarity.
I understand that a lot of people want some kind of melee weapon for the UNSC besides the Combat knife for Assassinations. But We already have a sword and a Hammer, the Stun or shock baton just wont work against those. No one will every use it except for maybe in Custom games like Cops and Robbers. In my opinion we need something much different from both. A Grappling Hook Whip. It would be a weapon that allows you to get to high areas without a jet pack and while it wont do as much damage as the energy sword and Gravity Hammer it would have more range. It would be made of the same metal as the Combat Knife and at the tip it would have small spikes that shoot out so it can grab onto objects.

There was a golfclub in previous Halo games. It never showed up in Matchmaking, but it was there. I don’t see why a Humbler Stun device couldn’t be added in for those that wanted to use it, but I wouldn’t make it a priority. If they have the extra time when finishing up Halo 5, then sure why not. Make it an Easter Egg or something. Heck, let us find and wield the legendary Scarab Gun in campaign again while you’re at it 343! ^^
I had actually thought, even though the Elites use the Energy Sword and the Brutes use the Gravity Hammer. Why not give the Spartans a Katana. Yet, I think that would be somewhat weak and useless since most of use commonly prefer the Energy Sword.
However, OP, we have the Combat Knife as our Melee weapons so there’s no need for another melee weapon.
