By now many of you may of noticed that the option to back out in the lobby is still available.
You see the problem with this in regards to CSR is that people can back out in the lobby after they check the other players stats/record and WILL NOT lose CSR for backing out. This is a problem and needs to be fixed, till then everyone can get a 50 with no effort.
If your able to check everyone’s stats on waypoint and make up your mind to stay or not in only a few seconds in pregame lobby, then you’ve got skills kid.
Type in their Halotracker for win/lose and their service record for k/d
> If your able to check everyone’s stats on waypoint and make up your mind to stay or not in only a few seconds in pregame lobby, then you’ve got skills kid.
The OP is correct, and I don’t think he’s referring to checking stats on waypoint. You can quickly check almost all the players’ service records and get their k/d ratio in the pre-game lobby, which is normally all you need to ascertain someone’s skill.

Ever stop to think that KD is not a measure of skill? Its a measure of who can farm the most kills without dying in BTB, regardless of whether your team wins or not.
So both your post and OP’s post are irrelevant.
I agree, its the worst in doubles when you go to vote for a map and the other team waits to see if they can get the one they want, and if not they leave before it starts while you have to sit through it all. When it matches people up, lock us please 343.
this is annoying, so dont vote.
i care more about the map and gametype i am going to play the the “skill” of my opponent.

You sir are incorrect. Sure, some people farm kills, and therefore k/d is not a reliable measure of skill. However, most people aren’t kill farmers and therefore it’s a useful tool in determining someone’s skill. I reckon 75% of the time I can predict the top 3 or 4 in rumble pit game by looking at the players service records. If I can do that then it’s not meaningless at all.

You say yourself that KD is not a reliable measure of skill. So that concludes our discussion. I’m not debating what shady techniques and estimates you use to determine who wins or not based on your “reckoning”. Especially in rumble pit, arguably the most random, & skill-less playlist in the entirety of halo 4.
In the end, believe what you want to believe. I’m just laying out the facts.
Oh and btw, the OP was referring to CSR, and not KD ratio. So my initial post stands, if you can check everyone’s CSR in the small amount of time you have in pregame lobby, you got skills. Otherwise, this thread is useless

i agree, KDR is still viable factor of someones skill.

why would anyone want to play on a map that they cant operate in. besides you got the win, quit complaining.
we have a system, everyone cept the party leader votes…he’s the swing, if we don’t get a decent map, he backs us out. simple.
K/D does say something about a player, at least the slayer one does even if it is from BTB.

The OP, as he has elaborated in post 3, he was in fact referring to k/d and other stats and not CSR (I’ll accept your apology). He says the “problem with CSR is that people back out of a lobby after they check the other players stats/record and WILL NOT lose CSR for backing out”. He’s saying that the incentive of CSR is causing people to back out when they check other people’s stats, not that they are checking other people’s CSR.
I chose rumble pit because it’s not a team game and therefore you’re assesment of another player is more easily visible in the results. You may make light of my “reckoning”, but I tell you now it works.
> Especially in rumble pit, arguably the most random, & skill-less playlist in the entirety of halo 4.
Why is it your 2nd most played playlist since the CSR cam out then. Also, it’s one of the only true ways to access a person’s individual skill because it removes the influence of the players on your team.
With regard to k/d and skill. Sure, people on this forum showing off their high k/d claiming it makes them skillful, you cannot read much into that, kill farming does go on. However, if we look at Halo as a population, then most people do no kill farm, so when you get matched up with randoms, a quick check of their k/d usually tells you all you need to know.
What does 2nd most played playlist after CSR release have to do with anything?
Are you assuming rumble pit is one of my main playlists?
Did it ever cross your mind that perhaps its a new playlist and i wanted to try it out?
As for an Apology, I’d gladly give you one had the OP edited his initial post to be clear from the get go, as i was busy reading posts further down the thread.
> Are you assuming rumble pit is one of my main playlists?
No but, given your quote “Especially in rumble pit, arguably the most random, & skill-less playlist in the entirety of halo 4.”, I would assume you would steer clear.
Just out of interest, if it’s a new playlist as you say (it’s been around for only a day and a half), how did you come to the conclusion it was the “most skill-less playlist in the entirety of halo 4.”
Furthermore, everyone’s CSR has been reset, so you’re going to be matching a lot of skill-less players on all playlists for a while until you build up your CSR. I think given my above points, to say it’s the MOST skill-less playlist in the ENTIRETY of Halo 4 is a little ignorant.

Assuming is stupid. I can assume your not a very bright individual, but does that make it true? I don’t think so.
Let me ask you a question, what makes YOU think rumble pit is not one of the least skill involved playlists in h4?
Taking into account that weapon drops are in this playlist, and no limitation to what AA’s and setup each player may have, thus causing more random outcomes.
Really, id like to hear your opinion, enough of mine.

K/d by itself may not be the best measure of skill but when someone has a high k/d AND they have a high win% that’s when you can decide how good the player is and if you should back out or not.
