A hint to forgers on how to avoid messed up textures on objects. Works 100%

I like many experienced the situation when our textures on objects look fine in forge and then look wrong in custom games with random color spread returning and messing everything up. Well, I seem to have found a solution, you need to set the texture as Plastic, then it works and looks good with no issues. I found that materials such as Paint are most likely to get messed up, can be seen particularly on the civilian car as the main bodywork color will get messed up. Same with default sandbags, you can fix the crappy look by changing it to Plastic as the material. I’ve tested this multiple times, Plastic will look correct and not get bugged out. Maybe there are other materials not affected by bugs, but at least Plastic is 100% foolproof. Use this to your advantage.

Actually, set color spread to 0.

I tried it, it doesn’t stick in customs. The color spread 30 will return.

oh weird. That sucks.

Hope they fix that.

Upon further inspection it seems that Paint and paint-like variants for textures are the main offenders when it comes to getting messed up when playing customs. You can use other textures but avoid Paint and it’s derivatives.

It’s a problem on many materials, including emissives, for which there is no suitable alternative. 343 has acknowledged the glitch though and I’m hopeful a fix comes in season 3.
