A Hero Awakens- Things that got my attention

Firstly, I want to say that this thread contains spoilers.

Now, I will simply list a few things that cought my attention:

-In one cutscene, John tells Cortana they need to get back to Earth and find Halsey.

At the end of the First Look trailer, Cortana screams and “attacks” the Infinity crew. Short after that, it turns out she didn’t want to do that.

Cryptum (if it really is a Cryptum) could be hostile, because in one scene, John jumps behind cover, while the Cryptum throws light with unknown effect.

And now, the thing that mostly got my attention.
A 343i employee said: “Requiem is the biggest Forerunner artifact”
So Requiem isn’t just a shield world?

What are your thoughts?

“John tells Cortana they need to get back to Earth and find Halsey”, that was the biggest spoiler for me.

> “John tells Cortana they need to get back to Earth and find Halsey”, that was the biggest spoiler for me.

I agree, but it made me excited! I need this game nao!!!

Yup, it was a huge spoiler.
But we could have expected them, so it is kinda our fault for seeing it.

You need it too? We could make a time machine together.

How is THAT the biggest spoiler? You didn’t see Johnson standing at the back of the bridge on Infinity? =)

… Also I want to know what the Officer and Chief are arguing about and why Cortana is so angry.

Johnson is dead… There’s no way he can possibly be alive.

What! Where?

Actually, the thing that got my attention the most was the one scene of Chief lying (apparently unconscious) on the ground while Cortana is slumped over above him… almost seems like she attacked him?

So many questions…

Ahh hubris, you are a kindred friend of vanity, if not the twin of.
So many great stories start because of hubris. Of course not just start, but change acts and end as well.

BIGGER SPOILER!!

Chief never leaves Requiem. He stays on it 6 months after the Campaign, as he does show up in Spartan Ops.

That’s a very good question too.

Yup, I wish today was November 6th…

That is an interesting theory tho. She seems sad, like her rampancy took over her. What could it have been??

EDIT: Now that I watch it again. I think it is the moment when Chief just woke up after Cryo. Short after that cutscene there is another one, this time being close-up to Cortana, and the environment looks the same.
It also reminds of the inside of a ship (FuD IMO)

Chief’s line about going back to Earth seems like more of a reassurance rather than a legitimate solution. We’ve read Glasslands and the other novels, we know Halsey has no idea, or at the very least she’s never mentioned it. If she had, she probably would have said something, seeing as it’s kind of a big deal. AND EVEN IF SHE DID Chief wouldn’t know! He’s been gone for the past five years, and prior to that we know that the AI rampancy issue was unsolved.

I think Chief is going to encounter a lot of personal issues with accepting Cortana’s impending death, perhaps more than she will. After all they’ve been through, what the hell would he do without her?

Ah. Certainly possible. I imagine his legs and muscles would not be used to the sudden strain, and he could collapse as he gets out.

What they will find out about Halsey is more of a spoiler than that, though. Chief has no idea of what’s been happening on Earth, etc. and Glasslands says a lot about it.

Things have changed. You still have a lot to look forward to

Biggest thing I noticed:

MAJOR SPOILERS

If you read the script at 3:50-ish, you can clearly see “Diadact” having lines.

Oh wow lol. That’s some pretty bad editing.

Wow, amazing catch.

You should make a thread about this if you haven’t already.

Except for the fact that the planet from the main menu can be seen in the background, and it seems that Cortana and Chief are in an area exposed to space.
