I heard 343 will do a remake of halo2. Is it true?

It was just a rumor/idea. There was never an official announcement. It could be true, but for now I wouldn’t count on it.

That article is from july, this one is from today. It hints they are developing another halo game (seperate from the core series). Could be a remake or something else entirely like halo wars 2 or Halo Skyrim Edition

This is what they said:

Meaning there is still a possibility of a Halo 2 Anniversary; although it may be a while before any news or further development on it will be made. I honestly hope that if it is in their bucket list, they will keep it there and not redo any other Bungie Halo legacy. After-all, there will be no point to remake the others.
343 please don’t remake halo 2… just leave it like it was… add better graphics and release it again… that is it… and watch the millions pile up.
If they did, I would speculate that it would be very similar to the CE remake. Just a campaign remake, with added content for Halo 4 multiplayer. (so no multiplayer for the remake itself, just expanding h4; just like CEA)
I would 100% buy that.

They won’t. The Halo CEA multiplayer was basically TU Reach. I see no reason why they wouldn’t use Halo 2A or whatever as an excuse to further market their Halo 4 multiplayer.

Except that rather than H2A they could release a Halo Infinity expansion, similar to ODST, that offers a full new campaign plus the usual round-up of multiplayer stuff without betting on nostalgia to cover it.
I read that in 2013 343i is releasing a halo 2 HD version. I’m pretty happy with this, since i just want to play campaign on the 360. SCARAB GUN FOREVER!!!
343 has enough on their hands at the moment. What they need to focus on is a game-saving update. Once this game is in its prime, and the real issues have been addressed, only then should 343 be working on any remakes of the sort.
