A Halo ring in Halo 4?

Capped this during the Gamespot live stream when they were playing the E3-2012 Halo 4 demo.

Now is it just me or does that appear to be a Halo ring in the foreground? And some sort of destroyed planet in the background.

What are your thoughts on this?

Halo menus have always been relevant to the story of the game. Halo 1’s menu was of Installation 04, Halo 2’s was of New Mombasa, Halo 3’s was of the Portal on Earth, and Reach’s was of Reach itself and a destroyed UNSC fleet in orbit.

Sure looks like one to me.

Maybe just a placeholder for now? Or actually something to do with the story…Installation 07

Thats a ring alright. And a destroyed planet.

If requiem is to be blown up, i doubt they would let that slip 6 months before the game ships. Ok MC has blown up everything cool he has landed on, but still.

So weve got a ring and a destroyed planet…Charum Hakkor?

The thing is the planet in the image is hollow on the inside.

One can hope…

“Cortana, what exactly am I looking at?”
“That, is another Halo.”

Halo 2 right?

What if Requiem’s shell turned out to be a Halo?

DUN DUN DUN

For people who’ve read the new books… It could be the ring we’re thinking about  (Forerunner saga books. I’m also guessing that the events that happened in Glasslands are going to be invloved :D) No spoilers for people who have not read the books!

^this

It definitely is a Halo. Likely Installation 07, as the events of the Forerunner Saga books happened 100,000 years before Halo 4. If you have seen all of the new Halo 4 information, you know that this ties in with what happened 100,00 years ago.

Actually another Halo appearing in Halo 4 as a weapon sometime in the latter part of the campaign doesn’t seem like a bad idea.

We will never know for sure until we played the actual campaign

If this is the case, I bet it’s Master Chief that activates the ring. If the precursor were the enemy (in this theory), then the Halos may be one of the only weapons that is powerful enough to destroy them.

Glad I’m not the only one pulling for I07…

The halo also looks bigger than normal halo’s… perhaps one of the 30,000 km one?

Either way, that’s a pretty -Yoink!- menu.

Unless this is many years back, they said installation 07 was only ten Km because of the stress and damage from avoiding that planet. Also (worth noting) is that ring does NOT have a cloud around it as stated in Primordium.
