i know this isn’t a mechanic before in halo, 343 could copy it from many existing mechanics in other games,
but close your eyes for a second, could you imagine a BATTLE ROYALE mode for halo INFINITE?? you know how positive it would be for microsoft, 343, to combine this style with these mechanics using crosslay platform between the xbox and pc, with options to activate and deactivate for personal preferences?
can you imagine a battle royale with mechanics similar to those of Call of Duty modern warfare?
where kinda using a spacecraft deployment directly to any part of the halo ring for the game (obviously re escalated visually to a comon sense size) and making players with small teams of 3-4 players, can develop survival skills on a hostile map full of bases, bunkers, weapons, modifications and vehicles to determine who will be the last?
there’s nothing like it, good-bye, Fireight, bye-bye, code mw, it won’t look like anything before, everybody would love to play it!
pulling out any competition at once, with add ons like a battle pass that makes people get levels, coins ,armor modifications, vehicle modifications, visors, weapon skins, grenade effects and grapple hook fxs , etc!
this is a unique, futuristic, millionaire idea,
343 and Microsoft should consider it if they want to ERASE the indirect competition like Call Of Duty modern warfare and Cold War coming up. This could be money on a text
I really dislike the whole Battle Royale genre in general,
Personally, it’s not fun to compete in and the features it has popularized, levelling up a Battle Pass feels entirely anti-climatic to me, I don’t feel like I accomplished anything but played the game for a long period of time, at least in Halo 3, if you saw somebody wearing EOD, you knew this person put in the effort of completing the campaign on legendary to obtain it, or seeing somebody with Scout shoulders, knowing they’ve got luck on their side for getting the Mongoose Mowdown achievement.
I’m sure it would be quite popular regardless if lowly ol’ me decides to play it or not, if it introduces more people to the series, that’s great, but I personally wouldn’t campaign for it’s inclusion in the series.
the only BR we need is Battle Rifle , Halo does not need Battle Royal at all. they have already said they only concern about the Battle Rifle. Just because its a new trend does not mean it belongs in Halo.
I’m really sick and tired of so many casuals saying that Halo needs to be like X game franchise or Y game franchise. You don’t want Halo, you just want Destiny/Fortnite/Far Cry/etc. with a Halo skin.
Halo does not need a Battle Royale mode.
100% it would, Halo has been ready for a Battle Royal since CE, it has the weapons - pick up abilities - weapons & vehicles. I promies you make a BR mode in Halo it will be the most played thing, when ever I am playing CODMW Warzone I mention Halo BR in my random squads, people lose their minds agreeing with me, its definitely wanted despite what Waypoint forums tell you.
One of the beautiful things to having an open world map is that a battle royal mode is really easy to implement. I think that’s one of the reasons they went open world, among many others, but I’ve heard many people say halo needs a battle royal to just stay relevant… I disagree with that statement entirely (love halo) I think halo would do fine even without battle royal just as it always has. I’m personally not overly keen on battle royal’s but don’t be surprised if there is a battle royal mode there for the people that do like them.
Halo does not necessarily need a battle royale to be relevant however as a game mode it would be pretty cool. I’ve been asking for one ever since Halo 4.
However it is important to note that Halo has its own identity and blatantly copying competitors will not make it any greater -> it needs to build on that formula if it wants that route.
If Battle Royale costs Halo devs an unnecessary amount of time, I would rather ditch it however I wouldn’t mind it as an addition.

I can imagine it. And I hate it. We don’t need Halo jumping on the battle royale band wagon. Not every game needs to do same g-d thing. We (the gaming public) should have learned this from every failed attempt at MMO’s outside of WoW, trying to have mulitiplayer into every single player game franchise, having crappy flashlights and jumpscares in horror games, and having hunger and thirst meters in every building/survival game. Etc. We already have battle royale games. Established franchises known for other things, are not going to suddenly topple the current kings of battle royale.
Yeah i don’t feel as it would be halos type of thing to do a Battle Royal especially if halo is trying to go back to its “basics”. Halo is going to be open world as we all know but i think it would be cool if you have to out run the flood and get to the evac point. If you and 3 other people have to run and fight your way through the flood
