I just think it would be a fun map to shoot around in, you have a giant disco ball, dance floor, smoke machines, laser lights and some funky music playing. Why would it be a bad idea
Regardless of how much time 343 would need to go out of their way to make this map, I (and I’m sure most others) would much prefer this time not be wasted and be used to ensure Halo 5 launches with quality maps. Halo Reach and 4 lacked good maps.
How do you know it wouldn’t be a good map?
Plus also developers make tons of stuff that doesn’t get put into the games. They have plenty of time to make one map.
They can just copy Club Errera from Reach and put it in MP for the fun of it I guess.
> They can just copy Club Errera from Reach and put it in MP for the fun of it I guess.
Nah I want a proper 70s boogie disco map, coping that club is just lazy and people didn’t like it when they copied campaign sections in reach
> They can just copy Club Errera from Reach and put it in MP for the fun of it I guess.
I feel like that would have made a terrific multiplayer map. All it would need would be a central platform connecting both edges so that the bottom of the map wouldn’t be a mosh pit…

Other way around, actually. Bungie made the multplayer and Firefight maps and then ported them to the campaign. But still, having a shared environment throughout the game isn’t very exciting.
This would be terrible. It would be a pain to see anything with smoke and flashing lights, and those would get on people’s nerves very quickly, I think. Not to mention that map movement would suffer immensely, since people could easily walk around in the open unseen, depending on the intensity of the visual flair. If there was loud music going, not only would it get annoying real quickly, but it would also stop people from being able to hear enemies/allies.
Honestly, no. Just no.
I’d love to be able to play MM without getting motion sick so I’m firmly in the “Completely not needed” camp.

I think you are exaggerating with motion sickness also does it matter if it’s not needed, its a fun idea and shouldn’t there be fun wacky maps?

No, there should not be. It’s a “fun” idea that would get old after two matches.
And many people would indeed get motion sickness, perhaps some would even get seizures. Is it really worth a silly map? No, not at all.

Actually I’m not exaggerating but thanks for making the assumption.
“Fun wacky maps” can be kept for customs. Something like this has absolutely NO place in matchmaking ever.

No one has had a seizure from the battlefield flashlights, also I’m talking about a 70s disco map not a skrillex concert.
Bioshock infinite didn’t give people motion sickness so I highly doubt a disco map would.
Finally a game is meant to be enjoyed and you don’t need to have serious multiplayer maps. There are plenty of silly customs games and actual games that are silly and people loved them so I highly doubt it will get old in 2 matches.
This just proves the old adage: Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.
> No one has had a seizure from the battlefield flashlights, also I’m talking about a 70s disco map not a skrillex concert.
How do you know? No one YOU KNOW has had a seizure however can you honestly say with 100& certainty that it’s not an issue? Because I can’t.
> Bioshock infinite didn’t give people motion sickness so I highly doubt a disco map would.
Again, you don’t know this.
And let me guess - No one’s gotten motion sick from playing on Prisoner either right? To which I call BS because Prisoner makes me motion sick so I have first hand experience with that.

Yes. Those people stick to CUSTOM games. There’s a reason games like Speed Halo and such aren’t in MM but are wildly popular in customs. That’s the same for a disco map.
Maybe to give you guys a better idea of a disco map watch this

Does it look like anyone would have a seizure or motion sickness on this map?

I don’t know, do you know for certain someone might not? Seriously, being inconsiderate of others isn’t a good strategy.

Well I know that I (and several others, according to this thread) would not find a silly map like this enjoyable. There are plenty of silly custom games (note : custom games) that are fun, yes, but those aren’t things I want to play all day long. You highly doubt that it would get old to you in two games, but I can assure you that it definitely would to me and several others that I know. Please do not go and make assumptions and try to talk for the whole community.
There are people who are sensitive to blinking lights and have trouble playing games that have a lot of them. They may not have problems with the rest of the Halo maps, but they could definitely have issues with this idea. Once again, you’re being ignorant towards other people, which is quite inconsiderate.

Yes. That would give me motion sickness and a headache. Thanks.

I don’t mean to be inconsiderate, I use to have a friend who is epileptic he moved to England though
They could have safety feature to the game that warns players and it can tone down the map a little. But Dice and other game developers test these things out so they are safe and so they don’t get sued
