a halo 5 prequel has to happen!

As most of us already know Halo 5’s Campaign is universally hated for it’s downright disgusting story that it released with. This permanently scarred the Halo universe because the story that we got makes absolutely no sense whatsoever from a narrative standpoint and completely neglected Halo 4 and every form of Halo media between 2012 and Halo 5’s release. I could go on forever about how deceptive the marketing was or how bad it’s story sucked but that won’t change anything, we need a solution right now, 343 owes it to every Halo fan that trusted them with the Halo universe. I don’t forget 343’s words in Halo 4’s end credits.

What Halo needs is a prequel spin-off game similar to Halo 3: ODST. A spin-off that leads up to the events of Halo 5 and fills every plot hole, builds every character and ties up all loose ends from the Escalation and Halo 4 arc. Halo 5’s Campaign can actually be something if it made sense and this is 343’s only chance to regain some trust from the community and save the Halo universe. Because let’s face it, who is truly excited for Halo 6 after Halo 5 with it’s absolute joke of a Campaign? And it would be nice if the game was actually ODST like with open world exploration. Anyway, 343 HAS to do something to fix this because unlike MCC this problem WILL carry over to Halo 6.

Silly OP Halo 5 on it’s own is already a prequel to it’s sequel Halo 6. Really Halo 5 was ALL SETUP and -Yoink- setup as well. The only part that I thought was actually pretty cool was going to Sangheilios but none of the missions there make any sense to of happened.

  1. The Arbiter losing a battle? It was made pretty clear that he’s the greatest commander the Sangheili have after Xartan’s death and made even more clear from 343i’s hype of him during Halo 2 Anni. Hell he fought through the Flood and Sangheili spec ops by himself like MC but can’t somehow beat a ragtag group of normal Sangheili warriors? He even lead an assault against several brute fortifications in Halo 2 with nothing more then the stragglers of other battles, yet some how is defeated by the troops deployed by one covenant Corvette? IFf Jorge, 6 and a hand full of marines can take out a Corvette, Thel and some of his best troops should be more then capable.

  2. The whole mission to get the repair droid was nearly useless. Not the mission to get the little guy all the action. Palmer deploys Osiris right next to the damn thing and it seems unaware of them until the assault wing moves in. The moment Osiris had gone undetected they should of changed their attack plan and rushed the Kracken boarded it then took out the core.

  3. The Battle of Sunion didn’t need to happen. Cleansing beams can fire from orbit with perfect accuracy and the entire city of Sunion isn’t will be destroyed anyways by the guardians pulse which is also already floating I believe. So why would Thel attack the city when Osiris could just inform him of it’s destruction regardless then have a CAS hover above the water next to Sunion, turn side ways and blasts all the supports of the city into glass drowning all of the Covenant ground forces and destroying their AA.

Hell you don’t even have to be fancy about it like how I just was, you could just fire plasma torpedo at the supports taking out the city.

It’s just crazy to have a city built on the water with small support beams. They might as well put glass windows on the bridges of their ships or add a trench leading to the weak point of High Charity…or like The Mantle’s Approach. Really why did it have a trench run?

Prequel of Halo would be meaningless.

Would be cool if we got a prequel to halo 5 about locke and how himuch and his team came to be. As well as maybe what blue team has been up to during chiefs adventures.

You miss the point. Halo 5 itself had no setup or any explanation for what happened. That it might work as a Halo 6 prequel doesn’t change the fact that there is a gaping hole between Halo 4 and Halo 5 that needs to be filled.

I didn’t miss any point I was poking fun at how useless Halo 5 was other then setup for Halo 6.

if you played all the Spartan ops and read the eu stuff it makes alot more sense. I enjoyed halo 5 campaign. Totally called it before it happened though.

You shouldn’t have to read expanded universe content to understand the game properly even though I highly recommend anyone who hasn’t already to read the books.

One game isn’t enough. Halo 5: Guardians could have like Halo 5: [insert name here] since it has the word guardians in the name. Three halo 5s is enough.

Sunaion was a pre Covenant city, you sure they’d just want to blow up such an old construct? Some of it would get totaled but Locke didn’t mention the guardians destructiveness until he was almost there. Osiris needed to get aboard the guardian that would surface right next to the city and Swords of Sanghelios had the upper hand, so what better way to end the civil war than one last crushing defeat that’ll be sure to put doubt in anyone that tries to start the Covenant crap again.

That’s kind of a lie since the the EU doesn’t explain alot of things Halo 5 did. It does give background knowledge for alot of stuff but the big questions aren’t answered.
