I know that this is a little unnecessary, but I figure what the heck. I want to get this off my chest.
What if in halo 5, they introduce a new enemy again. But instead of having all these different looking classes and stuff like all the other enemy types, let’s make all of them look basically the same, but just have lots of different weapons and such. I think that this would be new to halo and would add a different feeling. You?
Very unnecessary, but hey feels good to relieve some thoughts.
Can I revive my ONI Antagonist Thread?
I theorized the Office of Naval Intelligence as an antagonist in future titles.
They’d actually do pretty well gameplay wise. I’d imagine they’d have types such as regular Operatives, Heavies, Snipers and Spartan IV’s. ONI also has access to an armory that we’ve never gotten our hands on, such as Hard-Sound Rifles; basically Sonic Sniper Rifles that leave no trace. Maybe also give them the Silenced SMG as well as a range of experimental weapons?
Don’t hate my theory, bros, because I stamp possible on this one.
If that happened, I would lose trust in 343.
What 343 are doing with Halo 4 is revolutionary to Halo compared to Halo 2 and Reach:
“A white elite fights more aggressively and is tougher than an ordinary red elite, and so is a different character type. In all other respects however, the white elite and the red elite are identical. It is therefore a waste to have to create an entirely new full set of behavior parameters when we’re really only interested in the fight and vitality parameters. What we therefore have, is a system which allows us to define only those parameters that are truly distinctive to a character, and then to rely on a ‘parent’ character for the rest.” - Bungie
Just about every Elite in Halo 2 was based on Elite Major and only their playing style is different (Zealots seek cover sooner, Spec Ops Elites throw grenades, Rangers jump and fly), not their intelligence. Only the Stealth Elite is based on Elite Minor. Only the Ultra Elite and Elite Councilor has a distinct ability (sword pulling). Transitional changes were minor (RoF, shield, health, recharge rate, damage, weapons) but only about 3 Elites (Ultra Elite, Stealth Elite, Elite Councilor) stood out for these base changes (particularly known for their fast shield recharge rate).
