First off all this is a very far stretched idea und very controversial.
I have waited for this topic to dicuss this idea calm and objectivly.
After the chief went rogue, we have a cut scene were Buck and Locke are talking to each other about what is ahead of them. Nothing special, and at someplaces odd, a bit of track. There are a lot of places were they went wrong in halo 5.(my pov) But this scene was always a bit too odd. When the heat against and for halo 5 was at his peak i got this idea.
The hohle scene could be made with the hidden message to say sorry. Locke is in this conversation Microsft and Buck talks as 343. They are talking about halo 5 development and how it will turn out. 343 is insecure if they should take this path with halo 5, but for microsft it is just another target (game), 343 is knowing that a lot of fans will blame them for this, hate them.
Mikrosoft reminds him that they are aware of the responsibility they have with the halo franchise.
I shortend the scene here with the core ideas.
U should try it for your self and rewatch this scene with these roles in mind. It fits, quiet good. too good to be real maybe.
