Here’s an interesting thought:
How about you all shut the -Yoink- up and let 343i do their thing?
Really, the amount of -Yoink- I get from this forum is ridiculous.
“Herp Derp, make Halo 4 just like Halo 3!”
“Herp No Derp, make it just like Halo 2!”
And what is that going to prove? It’s going to prove that either 343i listens way to much to it’s community, or is incapable of making an actual new game.
And ya know what? That is exactly the thing some people want. They don’t want Halo 4. They want Halo 2.5, or 3.5. Why? The whole point of rejuvenating the series is to start fresh! Yes, it’s fine when they borrow certain aspects of the previous instalments, but then morons go around wanting a remake! Look at Reach. I love it. Precisely because it was new! What would it have proven if Bungie just made 3.5? That’s not what the Video Game industry needs! Repeating the same formula over and over again, just to cater to the classic community is idiotic! You won’t preserve Halo, you’ll destroy it!
Yes, it’s fine to keep core elements; it’s not fine to put a new face on the same thing and try to market it!
sigh
Look guys, this isn’t Bungie any more. This isn’t Jason Jones, Marty O’Donnell, or Tom Gioconda.
This is 343 Industries. This is Frank O’Connor, Che Chou, and Greg Murphy.
I love Halo, especially the trilogy. I still play it today.
But when Halo 4 comes out, I don’t want to play Halo 2, or 3. I want to play Halo 4. The Halo 4 343i will make. And hopefully, one they make originally. Really, even if it sucks, as long as it’s something new, rather than just a copy-and-paste of H2 & H3, I’ll like it.
Let’s face it guys. It’s time for something new. I don’t want Halo turning into Call of Duty just for the sake of the Classic feel.
So just do your thing 343i. As long as it’s yours, I’ll play it.
I love you all, and peace out.
