A Good Needed Change

How about this. Make an option for finding games with ordinance only and for finding games without ordinance only. That way people do not have to spend so much time quitting and searching for matches, or waiting for matches to end. I need ordinance because I am a person who wants to achieve stuff. Like stances in this case. Apparently nearly everyone else just wants to play it more like Halo 3 or Halo: Reach. I got some amazing news for those people and here it is. There is a video game named Call of Duty out there. If you want to play the same lame thing every time a game is released, then play that. I quit Halo when this “slayer pro” junk was released. I prefer to call it “slayer old” for the reason listed above. I tried to play it again when I started a workout program. With an intense workout program I cannot be exercising all day. I see Halo has not changed any so I decided to play Guitar Hero. Even though Guitar Hero is dead, it is still awesome to me. I do play real guitar but I cannot always do that because I live in an apartment. Guitar Hero I can use my turtle beach headset. When Halo 4 gets to be fun again then I will play Halo 4 again, which means I will never play Halo 4 again.

Here’s a thought, maybe all us old halo players don’t like extra randomness in our game. We want equality and not random -Yoink- falling from the sky, for getting a few lucky kills and assists. We don’t play COD, because it doesn’t start equally, and their is no map control. This game, is way better than when it was released.

You never said that you actually enjoy Infinity settings, such as Personal Ordnance and perks. The only reason you gave for having fun playing Halo 4 is to unlock stuff with Commendations, some of which require PO. I’m left to conclude that if Halo Xbox One gets rid of Infinity settings, as long as it has Commendations for “classic” settings, you’ll have fun playing it.

Since Halo: CE, Halo’s gameplay has required something that is unique in the shooter genre: strategy and teamwork. CoD, Unreal, Quake, GoW–none of these require strategy and teamwork like Halo does. IMO, Infinity takes away from that. Instead of fighting for on-map powerups and weapons as in previous Halos, everyone spawns with their own equipment. Instead of looking at what the team is doing and doing what they’re not (i.e. no one’s going down this hallway, so I’ll do it), everyone picks the starting weapons and perks that they want to use and they’ll stick to it regardless of how little the team needs that role at the moment.

Off-topic, it’s very funny to me that you demean those who want to play the same game over and over again, and then you play Guitar Hero. If there’s one franchise that rereleases the same game over and over again, it’s Guitar Hero.

You should get Rocksmith. It’s Guitar Hero, except you plug a real electric guitar into your Xbox 360 and play using that. One of the best, innovative, and most fun games I’ve played!

LOL. Wait a minute. The problem most of us “vets” is how Halo 4 copies COD. Funny thing is 343 copied a game that copies itself every year. So in essence Halo 4 is the same lame shooter as the other lame shooter…IMO

Halo had its own identity, its own path.

Instead of improving on the best of Halo 3(Ranked/Social) and Reach (Forge,CoOp,Customization) they chose to scale EVERYTHING back. Then add features that Halo fans either didnt ask for or dont like. I never liked COD because of perks and streaks. Now the latest game in my favorite franchise is based on the same features I didnt like about COD.

9 months later we get Legendary that isnt classic in any way. Classic is Primary/Secondary/power weapons and power ups on map. So we still get the shaft.

If you like Infinity thats fine. Just remember there is nothing new about it since every feature was in another franchise first, and that other franchise does it better.

Dont insult us old schoolers that were ignored to cater to a different fanbase.

The irony is that CoD keeps a similar formula and stays fun from game to game(Well, when Treyarch makes them). So much fun that Microsoft decided it was a good idea for Halo 4 to try and mimic CoD.

Rock Band is better, anyway. That DLC support.

I’m left wondering if i missed something, or if OP really suggested that if I don’t like killstreaks and so on I should go play CoD.

I agree rockband always has better DLC. But IMO guitar hero always had better on disc songs then rockband.

You’re assuming that all Halo fans loathe all potential change to the series. Call of Duty may be the same every year, but do you want to know why? Infinity Ward and Treyarch found a winning formula and they’re sticking with it. gasps

COD hasn’t changed its excellent marketing formula? Oh the horror!

Well, granted, I’m not a fan of COD’s repetitive gameplay, but at least it’s consistent among the games. 343 went so far as to copy some stuff from COD because they tried to reach an audience that did not exist.

My point is, was change necessary? Change in a game is always welcome as long as long as it freaking works/makes sense. Here’s some that didn’t work: Spartan Ops wasn’t received well, Infinity is an abomination, killcams are still buggy, and Forge and Customs were gutted (screw your canon 343. restore our customs). 343 could learn a thing or two from COD on how to be consistent.

By the way, define “legit comment”.

And the point of this thread is…? Just another thread telling people of one opinion to -Yoink- off. People are entitled to their opinions. Personally, I fall into both categories. I can murder in Slayer Pro, as well as smash enemies in Infinity Slayer. It’s just a matter of how people play. Just because you don’t like a certain gametype that was added into matchmaking doesn’t mean it gives you the right to tell people to go play another game.
