As you all know, the Needle Rifle is zero-bloom in TU Reach. However, when you first pick up the weapon there’s visual bloom to let you know when to shoot. However, if you instantly start shooting, the Needle Rifle will bloom like the Vanilla variant. Obviously this isn’t meant to happen. Just thought I’d let you lot know.
Yeah i noticed that too.
Not exactly a glitch, just a side effect of the visual bloom for when you pick up a weapon.
> Not exactly a glitch, just a side effect of the visual bloom for when you pick up a weapon.
No, its a proper glitch affecting bullet grouping. Its the only way to make the NR have any bloom with TU. Caught me out a few times when i held the trigger down expecting no bloom with it.

It’s not a glitch, the bloom hasn’t had a chance to reset fully before you can fire.
The NR isn’t advertised as “zero bloom” during regular TU, it is advertised as 85% bloom.

Which is a glitch. There is no other gun you can fire before its reticle has settled when you pull it out. The consequences of the glitch is the difference between having a ZB full auto death cannon, and something that feels like the normal vanilla needle rifle, which is a stark difference.
Troll elsewhere Stahl.

I can fire a DMR before it is settled, and also a Sniper if I YY. The consequences of this not glitch is that you get an inaccurate shot for firing before the bloom can reset. The bloom is simply expanding faster than it can retract, unlike when the reticule is at rest.
I prefer Sitri, thanks.
Which is a glitch.
Ill call you what i like, thanks.

But it isn’t…
I really don’t like having to argue with people, and just tell them they are flat out wrong, but you are not showing any sort of truth in your statements. Had your post contained facts, I wouldn’t have to tell you you’re incorrect. But you are incorrect, sorry. Not a glitch.

Thats not a glitch. The gun is doing exactly as its supposed to by shooting at 85% bloom which it advertised.
You want a ZB needlrifle, play MLG.
And stop being hostile, I may not always agree with sitri over there, but he was merely stating you were inccorect by saying that it was a glitch. Now, unless it is indeed advertised as ZB, it is not a glitch.

Guys I’m tired of the bickering. Please for the love of everything Halo, knock it off.

Just tried to replicate it in super slayer with the DMR, by sitting down, pulling out the DMR and instantly trying to spam the bloom up to full size. It remained zero bloom (no bullet grouping). The needle rifle does not enjoy quite the same accuracy benefit the instant you pull it out for some reason, giving a peculiar variance between effective zero bloom and what looks like vanilla bloom.
Its a glitch.
I dont overly care really, i just know that OP is right on this one, and I noticed it months ago and thought “oh well” and forgot about it.
Anyway, im bailing this thread before it turns into a real off-topic trollfest.
are you meant to be able to fire the weapon before bloom resets when switching out?
well, IMO bloom resets when the switch out animation is finnished, during the animation you aren’t able to fire, if you can fire just before the animation finishes then it could very well be a glitch, the needle rifle doesn’t bloom in TU when you fire it from zero bloom so if it is staying bloomed after switching then it most likely is a glitch, 100% bloom effect in 85% bloom? that isn’t right, the precisions weapons in TU are advertised as 85% bloom, if you’re getting effects of 100% as been said in here then that is a glitch, a very minor glitch that has no impact on the game.

Sounds to me like a glitch that occurs in the normal game but is a lot more noticeable on TU settings, the fact you can fire the NR before the bloom resets fully doesn’t sound right.
It is a glitch, but not one the TU introduced.

Haha, I wish… The threads around here lately are so high in tension, people are agrrivated by the constant amount of hate and or love or simply just opinions they don’t agree with. And with that they bicker.
Tis unfortunate, I agree.
But with halo 4 on its way shortly and the amount of tension we have hoping it doesn’t flop like reach did, we’re all running our brains over capacity. Especially with the people just hearing about the info, and reposting old threads bringing up old discussions…
Yes tensions are high, and unfortunately will be until halo 4… I miss the days when there wasn’t this much bickering amongst the community…

Oh, I didn’t think the new tu settings were zero bloom… That would be where my confusion comes from.
I’m playing arena at the moment, and the TU there still isn’t zero bloom like in super slayer (which I don’t play)
You are indeed right on this one then.
PS: Wasn’t trying to troll, just wasnt under the impression the new TU was ZB. Sorry
I just hopped onto Reach and did a few tests.
The NR does in fact bloom on TU settings like mentioned in the OP, but it is due to the fact you can fire the NR when picking it up before the bloom fully resets.
It is a lot more noticeable in the TU settings due to the reduced bloom time.
Just so we can come on a compromise, it is a glitch, but not a TU glitch.
This isn’t a glitch at all, what the OP really means, that he didn’t word right was this;
When you fire as soon as you can after picking up the NR or even switching to the NR, it will have more bloom then if you waited a second. Firing normally the bloom resets completely before the next shot.
This happens in all gametypes with all weapons. I think it’s a design choice.

When picking up a weapon, the bloom was intended to reset fully before using, as a visual indicator, the Needle Rifle doesn’t do this.
