It seems the new inspiration of a sequel to a ‘AAA’ Halo campaign requires certain fresh and innovative ideas. A split-perspective has proven itself twice now, Halo 2 (Bungie’s sequel) or Halo 5: Guardians (343 Industries’ sequel), which brings me to the conclusion that this needs to be replicated.
I’d say a factional alternating campaign, UNSC, Covenant or Flood, which drives an ultimate overall plot. This perspective change will render and allow certain mission to have a more propriety feel that matches the faction which is player-controlled, for example:
UNSC - Defend and evacuate the colonists, or colony, this mission would play as a defensive patrol mission. - Covenant - Attain the artifact and research it, this mission would play like a search and rescue mission. - Flood - Assimilate biomass and form a Gravemind, this mission would play like a slaughter and scavenge type deal. This embargo of only one perspective will place boundaries upon the campaign which would limit the gameplay and replayability of the overall experience.
Yeah, but why is it in your OP? The last paragraph is kinda jammed in there. Are you implying a split campaign limits the gameplay and overall replayability of the game? That paragraph confuses me a bit.

That too would be great, perhaps either playing the different perspectives of the same campaign plot or extended as is the case of starcraft 2.
