So I’ve been working on a map and gametype. I don’t have a name yet so I’ll call this “Game.Map X”. It’s a simple but pretty interesting game. It takes load outs to a new level in a more “Team Fortress” way.
So I’ll go over the map and type.
The Player. The main stuff
Each player on each team spawns in a single area, a base closed off from the rest of the map. You have choices “Close Range, Long Range, Infantry, Support and Vehicle”
To get this you go into a hallway with a teleporter that leads to the main battlefield. Each portal is protected. Yet each leads to a different place.
So here is the list of weapons and portal location. List of weapons is based on the ones at the start. Not on the main battlefield.
Close Range: 3 shotguns, 1 energy shield. One slow spawning active camo.
You teleport into a base, It’s small but has a good amount of cover. Don’t worry you can find more mid range weapons in here.
Long Range: 4 sniper rifles.
You teleport high into the map. This locks you into one point, Snipers are the only one who are forced into one area. Yet you have plenty of sniper areas. A good walkway and great cover. Yet no way of getting down (for balance)
Infantry: 2 DMR’s, 1 Magnum, 1 Assault Rifle. One slow spawning Over Shield.
You teleport in a few places. 3 places to be infact. You are main structure of your team. A good average amount of weapons and spawn points. Nothing special.
Support: Grenade Launcher. One infinitely spawning Custom Powerup
You teleport looking down the map. You have two turrets. Yet the custom powerup is what change you. The custom powerfup makes you 25% slow with high gravity. You don’t want to move. Yet you do more damage and take more damage. You are meant to use that turret.
Vehicle Support: No weapons.
You spawn far back on each side. You get a warthog, revenant, scorpion (no spawn) and a ghost. [May add a Falcon]
Map Structure
It’s the gulch. There is a base in the middle with two smaller ones for each team. The base isn’t too amazing. The middle base is well protected. It has a ton of weapons.
So overall the only two classes that are forced are The Sniper and Support. Infantry, Close Range and Vehicle Support can be shared and change.
Anyway good idea? The map is 50% done and I’ll be having a test when it’s done.
