A flood of quitters.

Has anyone else experience the long number of quitters and AFK-ers that have shown up in both Social and Competitive playlist?

In Social, it was almost every other game I had someone quitting the game. Sometimes right at the beginning of the match, others a quarter of the way through. Luckily some of the teams I have been only have won even with being a player down. But still the quitters are out in huge numbers lately. Normally this only happens when new content or the holidays when new players join the game or return. hopefully it will pass.

But my main complaint is in Competitive, Its been taking me 15 to 20 minutes to find a match in H3 Team Slayer, then my teammate either quit or are AFK! I only play 3 competitive games a week for the weekly challenges but still annoying to have 2/3 to 3/3 games where your team quits on you. When in competitive I do play to win but I keep running into players that don’t care.

While I have only played the game a couple of times over the past week or so, a couple of Team SWAT matches I did get in to had someone who was AFK for the entire match. While it is annoying, I do like to have some fun at their expense. I send them a cheeky message saying, “To play the game you move the thumbsticks and push RT”. Never got a reply.

Some times being AFK can’t be avoided. We live in a world where we get people at the door, like pizza delivery, Amazon, the furnace guy, the septic pumping company or family drops by.

Maybe but 20 minutes of afk in MCC should be leading to people being kicked…it shouldn’t take 20 minutes to grab a pizza or Amazon delivery and if they know there supposed to be having someone over soon for a while then they should quit the game instead of giving the enemy team easy kills. Everyone has their personal reasons but that doesn’t mean every game I play I should cater to every player that is either afk boosting or actually had to pop away for a few minutes…this is why H5 has a decent kick system if players are away for a decent amount of time since it can detect reasonable times for people needing to disappear for a few minutes and the other people who are exploiting the system.

Happens quite a bit. Sometimes in my case, I get disconnected randomly so it causes me to quit. Ticks me off. Anyway, yeah, there is a lot of quitting in this game for sure and it’s tiresome when you are the only one on the team. Had that happen recently.

It’s always fun to send cheeky messages to AFK people. I love the message you sent, its amazing!

I agree that sometimes stuff happens, like internet and game issues that cause disconnection, This is also why I think the quitting systems works decently for the game. Making each quit game a stricter punishment, let those that gets disconnected because of problems a small punishment that doesn’t really effect them, were as those that quit more get punished strong!

That is why I stick to FFA mostly where quitters and AFKers make the game a bit better as FFA plays better with a couple less players rather than eight. Or fire fight arcade where you don’t really need four players as well.

What’s irritating is the report feature does nothing for afk players. Literally just been in 2 games in a row with the same player afk regardless of it the account is reported for being afk, a majority of the time player was afk, yet the matchmaking system decides to put me into a matchmade game with the same player 2 times in a row, some cases it does it even further. AFK boosters deserve their penalty, so does the quitters. I’ve even been in games where players are clearly cheating and yet reported them, straight after reporting the system throws me into the same, seriously this makes sense.

I’ve run it to take so many times. I agree that AFK-ers should have a penalty, and in my opinion a higher one than quitters. Since they give free kills to the enemy team.

Yeh I agree about the afk players, I’m been in games where they were in multiply games in a row and it didn’t make any sense as to why they’re allowed to continue playing, ruining my experience. On a side note I found one of the common afk players again on the opposing team, the player was actually playing this time and the person got completely destroyed by me in-game…I suspect my frustration had to go somewhere. Some days I can tolerate it but some days it just irritates me.

It just constantly gives me players who go 2-20. Or even last night i had 2 players on my team with ZERO kills for almost a 20 minute match and over 20 deaths each. Its just not fair. So true, I’m tied of the quitters and have been reporting every one of them now.

That was me last weekend in Slayer, I don’t think I had a game without a quitter and was on one hell of a losing streak. It was terrible!

People should be kicked for being AFK for a certain amount of time. MCC should have an option for people joining a non-competitive game mid-game. Either by inviting someone into it, or having a way for people to search into games that are already happening.

It absolutely ruins games when people leave, or stay AFK the entire time. Even for both sides, if I am competing against an AFK enemy, it’s not fun.

A couple weeks ago, I got into a Halo 4 game were all 3 of my teammates were afk, I had to abandon the game because of how irritating it was.

I agree with the kicking the AFK players after a certain time and maybe adding a penalty for repeated offences.
But I don’t like the idea of a mid-game join, as I have run into many problems with games that do that. mainly entering a hopeless game again and again from searches and getting losing streak because of it. and inviting sounds nice but you limit the people with small friends list and the small clans. Worst case, By limited the smaller groups you kill off the social groups making it very competitive.
In my opinion Competitive games should have it over Social games, since losing a player in Competitive can be worst for the team. In Social losing sucks but its will not cause you to lose rank.

I’ve played 1v4 games, with my team quitting, and had a blast, I lost but I didn’t lose anything for it, It also let me try out new ideas of attacks against multiple enemies.
Where in Competitive I have played 2v4, with half my team quitting, and lost rank, and did not have much fun it the match.

Curious, you warned that you’ll be hurting smaller clans and small friends lists if you added invitational joining, but you are fine with that in competitive? That would mean bigger clans and friends lists will always have someone to fill the void, while everyone else wouldn’t. Wouldn’t that be even worse?

Let people join in Social Games mid game because it isn’t that big of a deal, in terms of ranks. Just because you had a blast doing a 1v4 doesn’t mean we should keep it that way. The smaller friends list isn’t a big deal because it’s social games, and it will help people who are losing randoms, or when people (like myself) who get auto kicked before the game starts, I get autobanned for a minute, and have to wait 15 minutes for my friends game to end when they are now doing a 3v4 for the whole game. Allow me to join.

You have a point but most of the bigger clans aim for ranks in playlist where the smaller clans are more social, from what I’ve seen Plus Ranks have a lower quit rate compared to Social… With that said, You have a really good point with it making it hard for smaller groups to get ranks. I think it would be better to make an opinion for join-able games and see how it works out. I have run into a lot of negative points for it but I know there are some positive points too.

It has happened to me like this, only in invasion, I suppose it is people trying to achieve the Skunked achievement, it is a shame but you cannot give a special ban to those who leave intentionally.
