A few ways to keep people playing this game

How to create Longevity in MM this in my mind is done in many different way’s
here are a few simple ones

1.
*EXP for Ranking up (ONLY EARNED IN MM) = Just like how Halo 3 had it you get 1xp for each win = A long time from bottom rank to the top rank
(No skill required just # of games Won)

*XP per playlist (ONLY EARNED IN MM) = Keeps people coming back for (INSERT RANK HERE)In that playlist again just like HALO 3
( again no Skill Required just number of Wins)

*CR/SR/Credits (EARNED IN ALL GAME MODES) for unlocking = Armor - Visors - Weapon Skins - emblems - Stances - Name plates - weapons if load outs come back - You could earn these from kills - flag caps - assets - basically medals in MM/campaign or Spartan Ops. (CAN NOT RANK UP FROM THESE)

2.
*Double xp weekends
This is a big one in my book it gives great intensive to GET on HALO on the weekends and play a playlist (RANKED & SOCIAL) that would award the wining team 2xp per win and make Ranking up a little faster .
Again these playlists would have to be something that was not offered in normal MM

3.

Play dates with 343 team member’s or even vs the 343 pro team

4. Weapon skins as un-lockables (NOT DLC)

After so many kills with a weapon you unlock a skin
(you would need that many kills with that weapon)
500 kills = Blue Skin
1500 kills = green skin
2500 = Gold
3000 = Pink
You get the idea , something like this might keep people playing so they can unlock more skins. These have no effect on game play or make it so a number of wins in the SLAYER playlist would unlock armor or Skins something small but something people want.

Only disagree with the weapon skin thing in some way. Teammates that perform bad or selfish just to unlock a weapon skin are very annoiying. Id rather see them unlocking via achievements, firefight/spartanops or campaign. (finish the campaign with only making BR/melee kills to unlock the legendary BR skin)
Or win 100 matches as a member of the red team to unlock the red visor.

They should not affect MM in any bad way like they do in Halo 4.

The harder they are to unlock the better in my opinion. LASO emblem in H4 is a good example.

I hope not exactly like Halo 3 though.
I think losing xp for losing is absurd.
Ranking up (progressing) only to rank down the next game because I lost has nothing to do with progression or gaining experience in my eyes.
It is just unnecessary punishment and more of a discouragement than an encouragement.

I would rather have it like that:

2xp for winning, 1xp for tie, 0xp for losing (but personal xp is gained nonetheless :P)

I would welcome a separate credit system to unlock armor.
It would turn the character customization into an actual character customization instead of treating it like a collection of trophies.

When loadouts return, then I think all items should be equally available right from the beginning for everyone though.

I think is the best ranking system blend I have seen so far. It uses the benefits of both types of ranking systems. However, I do think skill should let you earn XP in MM faster, but not affect you losing it. That way we could use the ranks to properly match people with similar skill.

I believe the idea is to keep the XP-based ranks and skill-based ranks separate, just like SR and CSR are separate. In that environment, XP earned would have no effect on matchmaking.

I don’t really care how you would earn these things more along the line i feel having things to work towards drives me/ people to keep playing the game and that’s a big deal at the end of the day.

as for the pink skin sure maybe its not for you or maybe not for me but someone would love to see it in the game (something for everyone) kind of idea

I agree with 1-3. That sounds like a pretty good combination of a Halo 3/4 style where the XP system is in play, competitive ranks are in play, and SR/CR are in play. If this is what 343i used I would be pretty happy with it. I’d also be okay with something completely different and new that works that I cannot even begin to think of but thats besides the point. I’m not crazy about #4 but I don’t dislike it. I’m just not a fan of weapon skins in general.
