A Few Things For Win10 Players To Try (helped me)

So being PC, i didn’t think to correlate XBOX’s janky net handling… but i accidently came across a net status tester in the win10 xbox app… and sure as hell, it showed strict nat and server access blocked.

Why, the hell, microsoft, do you bring this garbage to PC? No other title i’ve played in the last number of years required this extensive of network overhauling to connect to your garbage service.

Nonetheless… here you go. Did some tweaking, got open Nat, server connectivity unblocked, and apparently i started hosting games (i’m assuming anyway as a few games instead of ‘connecting’ i got ‘waiting on players’ at start up and lag free matches)

a static ip for your desktop is recommended before proceeding (google if you’re not sure)

XBOX App -> Settings -> Network

You want to see NAT: Open, Server Connectivity: Connected

If you don’t get that, read on…

First, you’re going to want to open some ports. I’ll leave you to your own devices for getting this done, but there’s plenty of guides avail for your equipment.

<ul class="_kYe"> - Port 88 (UDP) - Port 3074 (UDP and TCP) - Port 53 (UDP and TCP) - Port 80 (TCP) - Port 500 (UDP) - Port 3544 (UDP) - Port 4500 (UDP) - Port 60209 (Both)[/list]run a cmd prompt (admin), run the following

netsh interface Teredo set state client clientport=60209

Next, you need to make sure your teredo adapter isn’t being blocked in your firewall, and that ICMP is allowed. Again… own devices as I use third party software, plenty of info out there for your set up… however, here is a tid bit for Win10 embedded users.

"To see if the Windows Firewall default policy is enabled:

  • Right-click the Start icon, and then select Command Prompt (Admin). - Run the following command from the Admin command prompt:netsh advfirewall show currentprofile
If the following output is present, the default policy is active:
    Firewall Policy BlockInbound,AllowOutbound
  • If the Inbound Policy is set toAllowInbound, Teredo will be unable to establish an IPsec connection to other PCs or Xbox One consoles. To reset the firewall policy to the default, run the following command from the Admin command prompt:netsh advfirewall set currentprofile firewallpolicy blockinbound, allowoutbound"

I’m personally going to wait until 343 fixes this before I try to do any of this. I’ll wait maybe 2 more days.
