Hi…I just started p,aging Halo 5…and I have a few questions…

  1. Is the multiplayer still popular? Or have the crowds died down?
  2. How do you unlock armor for multiplayer?
  3. Is Warzone pay-to-win or pay to have an advantage? At first glance, it seems so…?
  4. Were they just being politically correct making the other protagonist black or is there a reason for that?

  1. yes it is esp since infected came back- warzone is also populated. But prepare to get reqd
    2)unlock armor from req packs which u can get from completing mulitplayer matches.
    3)not a pay to win. Its like for me as someone who has unlocked all weapons and vehicles after playing since launch would have a larger armory compared to you who just started. Its all about how much time u invest and your luck in req packs.
    4)i dont know

  1. Obviously, it’s still Halo. 2. REQ packs.
  2. Warzone is never pay to win. Its pay-to--Yoink!-. In other words, pay-to-bragtoyourfriendsaboutbeinganoobandhavingmythiccerts.
  3. Why are you looking so much into Locke’s ethnicity? They could have made Locke Mexican and nobody (except Donald Trump) would care. Its not racist, and they didn’t need to be politically correct. Now, if Halo was about, say the Civil War, and made caucasian people look like the good guys, then that is politically incorrect, and racist.

  • 1.Yes, Halo 5 has the largest player retention since Halo 3. - 2. Unlock some armor by MCC, watching Nightfall, and by REQ packs. - 3.I wouldn’t say Wazone is pay to win…but REQs could definitely help kill bosses and earn points. - 4.Locke is black, because he’s black…not really a reason behind it.

1.Multiplayer has remained pretty constant, as far as match availability, which is impressive, considering the number of games that come out to steal people’s attention.
2. See previous poster about REQ packs.
3. I would say until you get to level 5 before you get to warzone, you automatically unlock the battle rifle in one of those early packs, and that is necessary, but it is not pay to win. Some people may tell you it is, but it isn’t. You can go an entire match only using loadout and scavenged weapons and do really well. Warzone turbo has a glitch, where if you join a match in progress you can’t use any REQ’s. That is a very REQ heavy mode, but you can still compete with just the loadout weapons and stuff you pick up
. 4.He was a character in Halo: Nightfall (A 5 part miniseries) Tanaka is both black and Asian. I had to look this up, but everyone on Blue team is white, while Fireteam Osiris is more diverse. I have no clue what the reasoning is. But who cares? They’re in armor.

  1. You can find a match usually at any time of the day from my experience, and I’d imagine it’ll stay that way for a good amount of time.
  2. Everything you unlock is through REQ packs, which is an RNG system so have fun with that. Fun fact: go bronze -. silver -. gold for best results
  3. You can definitely pay to get an early advantage, but all it does is speed up the process on getting good req’s. Which will make no difference to people who already have req’s.
  4. I used to think 343 was trying to be really PC when they showed Osiris, but I honestly don’t think that anymore. I mean, if 343 was trying to go PC on us then I don’t think they would show him getting the smack-down from Chief. All in all I think Locke is a pretty good character and me and my friends enjoy the bountiful amount of memes he has created for us, he’s definitely one of the better characters 343 has puked up.

#1 I would say the crowds have died down but in have yet had any trouble finding a match on any playlist at any time.
#2 pretty much all armor is in the req system, you buy packs based off points or money. There are a couple sets you earn. If you are just starting out get silver packs first until they give you back two 1500 req point cards then start with golds… it’s a long grind to unlock everything.
#3 no warzone isn’t pay to win at all despite what the haters say… it’s not even pay to have an advantage really if you know the tactics of the game. Even those who buy a crap load of packs they still have to have the skill to use the reqs. Also with the req meter in warzone you can’t just spawn what ever you want, well in the limited time warzone turbo you can but that is different. In regular warzone you can’t… even if I have 100 say banshee ultras in my inventory I have to get to a req level seven to spawn one… and nothing stops the other team from say shooting me down quickly… I can’t just spawn another one, I would have to refill my req meter back to a seven which could take a while.
#4… who cares really? Are you a racist or something? Locke is a great character IMO. He was great in the live action movie nightfall, which if you watch nightfall on the Halo Channel that does unlock an armor set.

I think Locke being black is less political correctness and more a sign that this is the UNITED NATIONS Space Command, not the UNITED STATE Space Command. Everyone on Earth is involved in it and the colonies were founded by people of all walks of life and of all phenotypes.

1: It feels like it. I can always find a match no matter what time of day. But, I cannot give you a specific answer because I do not think the numbers are known.
2: Play the game a lot, unlock all the silver packs you can. And once you get enough silver packs start going for gold to get cool legendary stuff. If you play for a hour or so, you’ll open packs, and the developers are liberal with there xp and rp bonuses. I play once a day for about an hour to three hours and obtain about 5 silver req packs. You can buy a gold pack with out going all silver, because it is possible to get legendary even with out getting all the silvers first, it is RNG after all.
3: I had a phaeton for about a minute… Was hit with a rocket and finished off with the standard pistol… You are only wasting your money, not gaining and advantage in my opinion.
4: I do not know, but it is possible. I didn’t think of it, just thought he was cool.

I personally do not like the micro transactions, but they are not implemented badly.

I don’t think Locke’s race had anything to do with political-correctness. Just look at many other well-known characters in Halo that were black - like Sergeant Johnson.

1.- Yes it is. Besides hearing a lot if cry babies around here who ‘uninstalled’ the game, you will always be able to join a match in a couple of minutes.
2.- Buy req packs (Press Y in the main menu or in the intermission screen). Start with silver packs until you get req points black, then move to gold.
3.- Yes and no. Yes people with good reqs have an advantage over players with no reqs or loadout weapons at all, but you don’t have to spend a cent in order to get all reqs and power weapons in the game. The micro transactions in the game are in there but are no invasive in anyway.
4.- No idea, never thought of that, I don’t care about people races or skin color, I hate everyone the same :slight_smile:
