Let me start off by saying I’m not moaning this isn’t one of those threads that’s bashing the game, I love halo 4 and it’s already given me days of enjoyment.
Now Ragnarok, or Valhalla, I still cant get used to it being called something different is a fantastic map, absolutely brilliant, I dread to think how much of my life has been wasted on that map, but 343’s version isn’t without its small flaws, as of course bungie’s version wasn’t perfect.
Firstly, something I’ve only really noticed today. There seems to be a little spot people have discovered to the right of the cliff base when you are looking at it where you can sit and snipe and be almost completely invisible to everyone on the map while still being able to see them ok. Just the very top of the head pokes out and you can barely hit them with a DMR even from mid range the target is that small, there is also quite a big area up there where you can just backpedal when under fire and wait it out. It also takes a bit of jumping to get to so the likely hood that somone can get up there and take them out is quite small. It seems to me, with its sudden rise in popularity as well as it’s obscure position and ability to see so much of the map, it’s probably not meant to be there, or at least shouldn’t be there. Someone correct me if I’m wrong but i think it might need looking at.
Secondly, in my opinion, the Mantis is way to OP for the map, not that there’s a problem with the vehicle, but on Ragnarok the sight lines are way to long to run up and plasma pistol it, which is the only effective strategy I’ve found of countering one, and with a good driver it can stay up the entire game, especially since it can take two splazer shots before going down. Now I know thats not really an issue, but just my opinion, I’d welcome some tactics if I’m missing something.
