So first off is it canon? (Besides Odd One Out) visually and story wise. Just curious if the visuals are canon. It seems that they are.
What time frame do the stories take place?? Does anyone know exactly when some of the movies took place timeline wise. I tried looking it up but i couldn’t find anything. Examples are, Homecoming, Prototype, babysitter. If we knew the time frame it would answer quite a few questions.
Yes, every story, exept odd one is canon. When it comes to visuals, you should consider artistic lisence ^^ We dont know the exact date for many of the stories. Prototype for example happens between 2548 and 2552. You can fin everything we knowon halopedia: http://www.halopedia.org/Battle_of_Algolis
I dont like all of the Halo Legends part, but the Odd One Out was a huge mistake, I was like WTF IS THIS PIECE OF -Yoink-? That’s the biggest mistake ever done agaist Halo Universe. Halo’s not an sucked anime. I have no idea what led them to do this part.
I liked the Origins I-II, Package and The duel but not fully.
PS.: I hope I dont insult anyone with my comment and sorry for the bad words.

As a fan of both Halo and Dragonball Z, I liked Odd One Out fine. I’m more disappointed about how little action there actually was.
Everything is canon in terms of story, other than Odd One Out.
Origins is a bit of a tricky one. It’s there as a loose recap of events up until the end of the Human-Covenant war but isn’t particularly accurate. The in-universe explanation is that it’s being told from the perspective of a deteriorating Cortana who doesn’t even have access to all the information regarding the events she’s describing.
The visuals on the otherhand are almost universally non-canon. 343 gave each studio a great deal of leeway when creating the look of their respective shorts, leading to things like the overly young Halsey in The Package, and the completely Japanese Elites of The Duel.
As for settings:
Prototype occurred sometime between 2548 and 2552
The Package takes place in 2544
Homecoming’s present day sections seem to take place in 2531
The Babysitter took place at some point between 2540 and 2551
Origins obviously takes place in a number of times, going as far back as over 100,000 years and to at least 2553. The actual time in which Cortana is experiencing these “flashbacks” could be anytime between 2553 and 2557, though due to how much she seems to be deteriorating, I’d personally pin it as being closer to 2557.
The Duel is practically impossible to place at this point in time.

It takes place some time after November 7, 2556. Cortana states that she is 7 years old in the episode.

I hated Odd One Out, if only because I felt it was a waste of a great studio’s talents. I’d rather they had told a canon story with great action, than whatever the hell Odd One Out was.

naaawwww anime is great and Odd one out was… cool!.. i wish they would do more anime style halo stuff like halo legends!

I think it translates into something like “Halo is not meant to be an anime; anime sucks.” I disagree with that interpretation, if it is right.
OP, your questions were mostly answered. I still want to say that I loved them all, and hope we get more. I wish they would release something telling the exat dates on these episodes. And Odd One Out… it was fantastic. Maybe it is a show in universe? :3
I’m pretty convinced that the concluding scenes of Origins Part Two are showing upcoming events in H5 Guardians.
The data chip (think the E3 2013 teaser), the return to the Ark, the unidentified monitor, the new Halo ring, the Gravemind interacting apparently peacefully with the Chief…
I’m pretty certain that was a big hint towards the future of Halo, regardless of non-canonical visuals.

Firstly, sorry for my english.
So, when I written that “Halo’s not an sucked anime” I rather think that Odd One Out is like a bad anime but sure I dont know what is a good anime I’m not a big fan of it.
Finally, I think it wouldn’t be a good idea to continue making like this. In Odd One Out, Spartan 1337 was like an stupid idiot spartan even if he’s different as that come from the title. And then when I saw the dino and that other huge creature… WHY?

Because that particular episode was a comedic parody of Dragon Ball Z. It wasn’t meant to be taken seriously.

Odd One Out was kind of a mix of Dragonball/z and Halo in a manner of speaking. Odd One Out was meant for humor.

Odd One Out was done by the same people who did Dragonball/Z/GT
Spartan 1337 was a reference to Goku who happened to be awesome as well as an idiot (in a manner of speaking) at the same time apparently.
That explains the dinosaur, the pteranodon, and and the Brute saying Kamehameha XD
Edit: Thought someone replied since I did last and instinctively replied . . . oops. merge if possible please.

> Here’s a decades old thread I created long ago if you’re curious about more Halo Legends things!
I also dislike it when someone says that only Spartans can dual wield/a certain armor supports dual wielding especially for “The Package” . . . Its a pistol not a freaking sniper rifle, a four year old could dual wield those things Even an ODST should be able to dual wield a SMG.
