So far I think ATLAS is a pretty cool app, but I feel like for $5.00 we should be getting a little more. I expected to be able to use the app more strategically in MM by making enemy/weapon callouts in game. I was a bit disappointed when I found out you can only use the weapon spawn status in customs and that you can only see your team.
I think these changes would make the app more worth the price
-At the very least show enemy locations, seeing your team locations is useless because you already can in game. This could be useful for having an advantage over campers, etc
-Show when weapons have respawned or when they are taken, so the team can better make callouts or be ready for an enemy attack. Just seeing where they spawn is pointless unless you have never played the map before
-Give iPhones a farther zoom out range so we can see the entire map at once
-In the map diagrams, have little gameplay tips (maybe a clickable little “i” symbol?) from the strategy guide. Not necessarily relevant for me but would be helpful to newer players
-Put in Halo 3 maps! People do still play it you know. Heck, add in H2 and ODST maps while you’re at it. None of those have to have the real-time stuff but it would be cool just as a guide, plus might as well if we’re paying $5.00
In summary, I feel like I payed $5.00 for stuff I could find for free online or in my Reach strategy guide. 343 can fix this but until then I give ATLAS a solid 3 stars out of 5
EDIT: Yes I know i changed the OP to sound nicer deal with it
Show the enemies location ALL the time - That’s practically cheating.
Once again, that’s way to much of an advantage, time weapons yourself and work with your team.
I’m fine with this.
Not needed, even for new players.
Not exactly worth it, Halo 2 is no longer on Xbox LIVE, making it pointless to have the Multiplayer Maps, ODST barely has any weapons on the Firefight Maps to make it worth it and Halo 3 has multiple Foundry, Sandbox and other community maps built in, making it worthless to how ATLAS would show weapon spawns.
PS: You shouldn’t have bought it if you didn’t read online about it, what we were told is what we were given.
You slammed down $5 for something you thought would basically allow you to cheat in matchmaking, then found out that wasnt the case. You come to the forums to cry.

Sounds accurate to me.
Call me old school but i won’t even utilize the cool features in ATLAS. Youtube videos and guides seem to suffice for this Halo player. I guess it’s for the new players who don’t want to bother figuring out weapon and vehicle spawns. shrugs.
Showing weapons etc. isn’t “cheating” in matchmaking, because if someone else wants to have the same advantage then they can buy ATLAS themselves or deal with it. That’s like saying the strategy guide is cheating, or knowing weapon spawn times is cheating.
Its more like having a tactical edge, as in you can plan ahead and prepare to counter the enemies. Its not like I want ATLAS to give you invincibility or an aimbot, remember the enemies can still kill you. If you are content with it just the way it is then you are an idiot because if I spend $5 I want it to be worth the purchase.
Also, I’m sorry if I didn’t do exhaustive research before buying it, but until the video they put up on Waypoint the way they worded it made it sound like the Custom games features worked in MM as well.
I still think this is a cool app and useful no doubt, I’m just giving 343 some tips to improve it, as I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way. All of you fanboys accusing me of wanting to “cheat” are stupid. I was planning on using it tactically to make callouts, etc. when playing with friends. If you consider having intel cheating, you are stupid.

my friend argued to me about not being able see enemies on this application for 2 hours. I pretty much told him the same thing. I don’t know why people are getting mad over that fact you can only see your team mate on this app…lol

We just pushed out an update that adjusted the zoom settings for maps (so you can see the entire map on the screen of your phone). If you have the app open now, just close it and re-open it to see the changes. Let us know what you think after you’ve had a chance to check it out.

Thanks, I noticed that earlier and wondered if you had read my posts about it.
Do you think in the future you could consider some of the other changes i suggested?
Perhaps 343 could make a more balanced version of my suggestion by having it only show moving enemies, so it functions similarly to the in-game motion tracker. As for the Halo 3 maps i dont really care about that but it would be nice
Good to see you guys listen to the community about this stuff

Sooo (yeah I know this thread is old but I’m already sick of Halo 4’s tempo so I’m thinking about playing Reach or 3 again)…
ok, so paying $5 for ATLAS gets you…what exactly?
I keep seeing these key phrases come up in the APP descriptions and videos:
•Weapon and vehicle spawn locations for Matchmaking and Firefight games.
•Near-real-time locations for weapons and vehicles during Custom Multiplayer games.
Does this mean that during regular (non Custom Multiplayer) Matchmaking it will show you that a weapon has spawned at its location in “near-real-time”?
or
Does it just show you where all weapons spawn on the map at the beginning of the match and that’s it???
My advanced Google-Fu has not yielded a clear answer to this (aka Bungie you need some who can write more detailed APP descriptions). Does anyone know?
