A Feature I'd like to see

You know what would be an interesting feature for Halo 4 or 5?
Bound vehicles-only members of the corresponding team may drive the vehicle.

They would still be jack-able, but it would prevent one team from taking the other team’s stuff and spawn-killing them, resulting in a horribly lopsided scoreboard.

This feature would result in a more fair experience, since that seems to be what everyone says they want.

If a player gets jacked its their fault and the person deserves who did the hijacking deserves to take the vehicle.

> If a player gets jacked its their fault and the person deserves who did the hijacking deserves to take the vehicle.

Im not talking about jacks. Im talking about people taking the other teams vehicles from their base while a sniper sits back and covers them. Red team has no rights to use blue teams vehicles, unless they take them by force on the battlefield.

So…going off your logic…a Player has no right to take a vehicle by force on the battlefield whilst his team mate covers him…but has the right to take it by force in the middle of the battlefield, whilst his team mate covers him, just for the same effect?

Really I see a fallacy in your words, my friend, if a player has taken the vehicle and starts a killing spree of death, then he seems to have a definitive edge. The base is apart of the battlefield as well, remember that.

Nope. That just encourages people to camp at the other team’s base, wait for someone to get in a vehicle, then hijack it straight away. What we need is better map balance.

People already camp at bases anyway, but right now they can stroll up to your wraith, hop in, and immediately start spawn-killing your team. No matter how much you balance a map this will always be an issue in btb. People will always find a way into the others bases.
Why aren’t people good enough to win the game with the vehicles allotted to them?
And about getting jacked at spawn, clear out the base first. They are at your base with limited ammo, and you can respawn with fresh clips and two frags, thats enough to deal with most.

why isn’t the player good enough to win with his own team’s vehicles?
Why must he steal from the other team, and rob them of a fair chance to combat?

Oh wait, your logic, he steals because he IS better.

If you have to use these tactics to win, I don’t see how it makes you a better player.

You do realize that there are a limited number of vehicles on the map at any one time, right? If you spawn and discover that all your team’s vehicles are gone because the rest of your team are idiots, what can you do? Jack an enemy vehicle. It has nothing to do with not being good.

It’s not stealing vehicles. You tell me that players should be able to defend their own base from campers. Then why the hell can’t they defend their vehicles properly? Granted, it’s more difficult, because their vehicles are out in the open. That’s bad map balance. With better map balance, it becomes a matter of skill - can you defend your base’s vehicles from incoming enemies?

With better map balance, it becomes harder for enemy vehicles to be stolen. People who succeed at stealing enemy vehicles should be rewarded. People who defend their vehicles well should also be rewarded.

It also begs the question, why would anyone leave your team’s vehicles sitting around for the other team to grab?

And by your own logic, hijacking is fine. So if you’re good enough to snipe a driver out of his Warthog, you can’t get in the Warthog when it’s in the middle of the battlefield, and you’re forced to abandon it there until it respawns or until the enemy reclaims it? But if you manage to get up close, you can hijack it at your leisure? Meleeing a driver to death doesn’t reward you, but a fancy animation does?

Hijacking takes skill. So it should be rewarded. With proper map balance, stealing enemy vehicles also takes skill. So it should also be rewarded.

Map balance is the key. As much as I like Hemorrhage, where it puts its vehicles is just bad balance. The placement of the Wraith is especially infuriating.

If Blue team was too stupid to get in their vehicles and leave them alone, that is their fault! Not Red Team’s mongoose rider going for the lone Wraith. Just saying, if they prefer to go after the Laser or Sniper instead of a vehicle, thats is their fault. Everything has a consequence-

You go after Power Weapon you lose the vehicle

You go after Vehicle you lose Power weapon

This is not fair-

You go after Power Weapon and what luck, you get to keep your vehicle!

you make your decisions and everyone has a consequence, its not fair if there isn’t.
