I think ONLY the winning team should get Credits/Exp or what ever HALO 4 is using .
In Halo 3 you got 1 xp if you were on the winning team and 0 xp if you were on the losing team In Halo Reach you get ( x ) number of credits for winning and ( x ) number of credits for losing
I feel this doesn’t drive people to care about winning as much as it should and people are ok with losing because they still get something and there’s little to no insensitive to try and get better because you still get something for losing .
And I understand not everyone plays with a full party or team .
Exp & Exp per playlist = insensitive to win / Rank ups
Credits for losing or winning = Boarding and little to no Insensitive to Try + makes it OK for people to AFK
Maybe im wrong and 343i has found a way to make it all work out.
You have a good point. I don’t care about winning as much as I used to because you still get a good bit even losing. It would drive people to win if you do something like that.
I agree. If they are not going to have visible (skill) Ranks then at least make winning count.
It will promote better games and teamwork just like you say.
You should not get anything for losing. The game should however issue a “good try” medal.
Players who perform better would rank up faster, as they should.
If your referring to the progression system then I disagree. The whole point of a progression system is you move up the more you play and your plan would be especially detrimental because the progression system unlocks loadout options. That being said however, it should value winning with consistent bonuses for doing just that, winning.
As for the skill based system, I agree that winning should determine if you move up or down. The more you win, the higher the rank. The more you lose, the lower the rank.
In the infinity multiplayer trailer the end game exp (credits) is shown. The smallest amounts are given for completing the game and personal performance where as the biggest amounts (a lot bigger) are given for objective and winning. Also we know that a skill based ranking system has indeed been confirmed. It is also confirmed to be visible only to yourself however what’s stopping them from changing that before launch?
Winning should give you a MASSIVE payout compared to losing, which should give you a measly amount of points. Giving nothing, I think, would be too severe since exp is your Spartan points and not directly tied to your rank
I don’t know what is up with some people’s attitude on losing.
SOME people believe that winning a game means their face gets carved in Mt Rushmore and the losing players should be shot.
When you are talking about experience based rank you need to understand that experience =/= winning. If you have experienced losing enough, sooner or later you will either figure out what you’re doing wrong or stop playing. In any event, whatever “reward” you get even though you lost is insignificant compared to what the winners get. Losing your way to Inheritor will take a long time.
I personally believe the only thing you need to get when you win is the highest score. Your team wins and the words “YOU WIN” appear on your screen. That’s all I need. Some of you other folks just have to have more than than. You want something to beat the losers over the head with. You don’t just want losing to be disappointing, you want it to be shameful. You don’t even want them to have a few pitiful credits for at least trying.
And I don’t buy that people AFK to farm credits (unless guests and/or a party is involved. That seems fishy). I believe that randoms that AFK do it to be annoying because they hate Reach. In any event I believe that problem will be addressed in Halo 4.
Let the losers have their due. Losing 49-50 and getting nothing would suck.

So your ok with people AFKing on your Team 24/7
Because if people can get xp for doing NOTHING they will
Look at Almost ever playlist in Reach’s system kids AFKing in most playlist BECAUSE you still get something sure not as much as the winning teams but still something.
My idea implemented into MM AFKing would be pointless .

Which is a problem.
With Firefight.
Which is gone.
But if you’re worried about it happening to MP then the simple solution would be to do what Gears has done. The bulk of your points comes from kills and ribbons, with a heafty bonus when you win.
> Look at Almost ever playlist in Reach’s system kids AFKing in most playlist BECAUSE you still get something sure not as much as the winning teams but still something.
The only playlists that I see any amount of AFKing in are Firefight and Infection.
> My idea implemented into MM AFKing would be pointless .
Is there even a problem with AFKing in the first place?

Hmmm… If people still do AFK Firefight/MM they are really stupid. Way more easier to farm custom challenge and AFK in those.
> Winning has a HUGE XP payout now, not to mention winning is likely to be a large part of ranking up in the skill ranking system.

> Sounds like a drive to win to me.
Indeed, Reach’s winning bonus was only like a few hundred cR, but now, Halo 4 gives players over two thousand.
I hated Halo 3’s ranking system. Oh, you got matched up with a bad team? Oh, even though your team sucked, you still managed to be the MVP of the round? NO REWARD FOR YOU!
If anything, you should get a bigger reward for being the MVP when your team lost.
> I think that’s a bit too far to give absolutely no credits to the losing team. The winning team should just get a significant bonus for winning.
And that is precisely what Halo 4(At least, in the E3 build we saw) does. If you win, you get around two thousand credits. I dunno about you, but that’s about how much I get per match (No challenges included). I’d call two-times the amount of cR for winning is a pretty bonus.
