Shyway has just released his analysis of Infinite’s movement, and I’m liking what I’m seeing.
I know myself and a few others were confused on how the implementation of Sprint is going to be handled in Infinite’s Multiplayer. It’s been noted in Shyway’s video, myself, and by other users on this forum that in the MP gameplay trailer (Particularly timestamps 0:46 to 0:51) and in the 2020 campaign showing that the player seems to have the exact same movement speed sprinting vs. firing. Also noted was the lack of a weapon-raising animation. This has led both myself and Shyway to speculate you may be able to shoot while sprinting. Also noted by Shyway was that a spartan can be seen reloading while sprinting, which I missed myself. It’s possible that sprint speed has been nerfed tremendously from, say, Halo 5, and as a trade-off you are now able to reload and fire while sprinting; firing while sprinting possibly having a small accuracy drop.
I myself speculate that the speed boost you get in sprint in multiplayer is negligible, if even noticeable, and it is mainly used for crouch-sliding. However, it’s possible in campaign you can upgrade your sprint speed, while MP keeps it limited to the base value.
I wish 343i would have been more transparent about this during the MP Overview, but hopefully, they’ll spill the beans on it soon. What do you all think?
