What do you think of the idea? Y’know, making a REQ that is basically an Scorpion or Wraith’s cannons like the chaingun turret?
- Makes no sense
- It bloats up the reqs even further
- What does it add to gameplay? We already have rockets that do AoE splash damage with rockets
- Again, it bloats up reqs
A detached Wraith cannon could do a lot of damage to the enemy core. I like the way you think, Spartan!

Waaaaaaay too early for this nonsense, Palmer.

Never too early for the truth. Love the smell of a destroyed core in the morning!
No.
It would launch you across the map or into a wall and kill you instantly from the force so no.
With the way the whole body of a wraith kicks HARD when firing the cannon… I admit that I’d love to see what it does to infantry trying to handle that recoil. Throw them back into a wall? Take out the attacker’s shields? Aim behind himself then jump and fire, turning the kick into a mobile man cannon?
What’s the difference between the tank turrets and the turrets we already have? It seems pointless, as I even prefer the warthog turret (already a req) over the scorpion turret, which has terrible accuracy. Although, a detatched hannibal scorpion turret would spike my interest though…

I thought depleting your shields AND taking your boosters out (you basically had to boost yourself when firing the Mortar cannon to keep the recoil from sending you flying) so that you could only use it for destroying targets that are being an annoyance and then die…

Rockets are slow by comparison. This is pretty much an anti vehicle, non precision sniper rifle… and it makes a lot of sense. We already detachable chaingun, rocket, plasma and gauss turrets. Why not add a 150mm round weapon that you can carry to damage targets in places the Scorpion can’t reach?
And REQs are already bloated as it is…
Basically, my complaints are down to "why isn’t there a core one shot destruction weapon with no charging time or travel speed. Something like an Sniper Rifle with the power and splash area of a rocket. The kind of weapon that can kill and entire team in one shot while not putting you at risk.
In other words, we’re missing an overpowered weapon. Think of how the pistol is a multi purpose loadout. This’d be a multi purpose power weapon designed to break any team efforts and allow for solo “lone wolf vs teamwork” gameplay.

You want something with the splash of a rocket and accuracy of a sniper? Have you ever tried an Arclight? Or what about a Gauss turret?
Also, non-precision sniper rifle? The hell does that mean? If it’s a sniper, it’s precise.
How would you even hold a scorpion cannon? how would you fire it without flying halfway across the map from the recoil? I mean, come on! it’s a TANK turret!!!

Is at enemy core with scorpion cannon/turret
shoots
flies back to other side of the map
Sounds like an awesome exit though, some Houdini -Yoink- right there.
