I’m extremely excited for Halo 4 and I have full support for 343 and what there doing with the game. But there are a few things I would like to know.
We’ve seen the render for the Mammoth but it has not been confirmed for multiplayer, I realize it is huge and all that but it would be AWESOME to use that in custom games/forge.
Although I totally understand if it’s just in Campaign/Spartan Ops.
Frank O Conner has confirmed that Halo 4 will contain 2 discs, now I’m just wondering, will it be like ODST where the campaign was on one and the multiplayer on another, or will it be like Forza 4 where you use one to install everything and then use the first disc to play. While i definitely understand why it would be on two discs, given the massive amounts of content 343 is putting on, it would be nice to not have to switch discs every hour.
I am extremely excited for Spartan Ops, but I’m a little confused about something I heard. I was told that we need a gold subscription to download and play Spartan Ops. Is this true? Do we really have to be online to play? That would really be a bummer and I hope I just misheard. And why would we need Gold to download something we should get for free, I have Gold so I’m not concerned but there are plenty of people that are.
We’ve seen autoturrets in the new domination gametype, and as a new armor ability, but will we get to use something like these in Forge? I’ve always wanted something to protect my base in Halo Reach and this seems like the perfect thing.

I’m not a developer, but I’ll try to answer some of these.
No confirmation on the Mammoth outside of Campaign/Spartan Ops. The Mantis (mech) was seen in multiplayer, but it is still unknown about the Mammoth. I do agree that it’d be sweet to have a huge map with a mammoth on it.
No real confirmation on this yet, but I am assuming that it is separated by campaign content and multiplayer content. It would be nice to know about any installation stuff, so the disc swotching won’t be neccessary. But in my opinion I don’t think it’d be that bad.
You need a Gold subscription to download Spartan Ops. Besides that, its free. Once downloaded, you can play the missions whenever you want. You, of course, need to be online for matchmaking Spartan Ops or playing with friends over Live, but it can be played offline once its downloaded. I assume Gold is pretty much the payment for Spartan Ops. Its a second campaign, a DLC campaign. Its amazing enough that it is free of charge besides needing Gold.
I can’t say for sure, but I am assuming that there may be some kind of turret placement in Forge. If not, I believe (hopefully) you can forge Dominion maps. You could likely place turret/barrier spawns and have the base fortify itself like that. You may need to play it in customs to see it in action, but it should work. I’m excited about this too.
