A Cosmetic change needed in team games

I think that the Blue team’s color should be changed to the blue I have on my character right now. Right now, it’s a lot easier to spot red players from afar than it is blue players (especially on maps like Haven and Complex).

The red and blue colors should both be a tad bit bolder. I agree with the comment of Blue team on Haven.

You know how you get “Blue” and “Red” colours when you’re in a team-based game/playlist?

How do you replicate those colours in the armory? I can’t seem to find them. The two red colours in the armory are unlike the red colour used in eg. BTB Infinity Slayer.

I would rather see team colours stripped (the teams could still be called Red and Blue) and you could rely on a waypoint or someone’s X to tell who they were.

Far prefer it that way.

I am pretty tired of red and blue.
The waypoints make it obvious of whose on your team.
I would like to see everyone sporting their own colors.

Yeah or a subtle tertiary colour change to your team colour red/blue.

And why can’t we have our own colour options in game types like flood - why radioactive yellow?

Agreed, Krowned.

Rainbow 6 has been doing it for a while now, and this game has plenty of customisation. It should be standard by now.

I agree. It feels like blue team generally has the advantage, in terms of color blending into the map/background. I hardly use the waypoint markers above players, I find it easier to spot people on the screen or radar.

I don’t feel that the solution is to let everyone have their chosen color though. Teamwork is bad enough sometimes, and I wouldn’t want everyone using the excuse "oh I blew up your warthog b/c I thought you were an enemy.

Just make the red and blue equally definable

Or, let people have their own colours and make the reticule green at all ranges.

Solves the problem of friendly vehicles being hit.

The lack of autoaim and friendly fire against teammates further supports this as an idea.

Personal colours FTW

Teamwork is already bad with red and blue. I dont see why it needs to be so obvious for us.
I guess everyone having there own color might not work so well since halo has been the same since the beginning.
Maybe have team colors change with the levels to blend in more but still be different from one another…

I don’t think we should have personal colors in team games because Red vs Blue is the most classic battle ever. I did make a thread a month or two ago where I talked about how we should be able to choose which shades of red and blue we want in team games.

I dont think we should have personal colors because

A. Taking out RvB is like taking out the Master Chief
and more importantly,
2. If a person had camouflage colors as their armor, it would only make the problems worse. Imagine trying to spot a green/brown wookie on exile(the only BTB map that people vote for)at long range. Impossible.

They both need to be a tad darker, but it would be nice to deviate from the traditional Red vs Blue.

In the Halo Reach Beta, Invasion had alot of different colors for both the spartan and elite teams and it was awesome. It sucks that when reach came out they put it back to red vs blue.

You know what would be great, for everyone including people who have visual disabilites? If we could toggle how teams are displayed to us. I think Fall of Cybertron does this to some extent, but I don’t see it alot in the industry. While defualt would be red vs blue, you could toggle it for players to either show their own colors or toggle the colors to be gamestype specific (Halo Reach Beta’s Invasion as an example).

The technology is there, its just up to developers to stop working with whats already established widely and start doing things different, start to innovate.

You know this topic makes me think about Gears of War Judgement. This newest install in the Gears of War franchise takes out the Locust Horde and replaces them with Red COGs. As if it wasn’t already easy enought to distinguish the Locust from the COG from a visual and gameplay perspective, Red COG vs Blue COG in Gears of War Judgement just makes it harder to identify who’s really on your team and/or who’s approaching you. Its a step huge backwards in the franchise, not a step forward.

Technology is advancing but ideas aren’t? Why? Why stick with something thats already established for the simplicity of it and not try to innovate.

A. RvB is not the main character of the series. I can see " I don’t want to play halo cause Master Chief isn’t there." but Chief isn’t going to live forever anyways.
I cannot see “They took the red and blue colors away, i cant play multiplayer anymore.” Enemies shouldn’t be sticking out (in my opinion).

  1. Once they kill you the first time then you know his position. And you should know pretty much every spot someone is going to hide by now. Its not like they are going to be invisible. Which is in the game if you didn’t notice.

Z. There should always be a classic playlist with the original settings anyways.
