I jumped out of my Ghost during a vehicle sequence to go explore a cliff. Following suit, the rest of Osiris jumped out of their Ghosts as well. Vale quipped “On foot now. Good thing we did all that running in training.” or something like that.
Tanaka replied “I had a drill sergeant that would make us run backwards if we questioned orders.”
“Why, what did that do?”
“Taught us not to question orders.”
I thought that was a good detail, especially considering the controversial nature of their mission.

How is that a cool conversation. That literally killed the conversation that could’ve been interesting. Plus it seemed rude for the Chief to say to his best friend since childhood.

I know it was cut off very soon, but I just couldn’t help but laugh because it was emotional and Chief just cuts it off. It was rude, yes, but it also showed they’re human. Chief knew that if he talked about Cortana, he would’ve teared up or just get depressed. Chief is the leader of Blue Team, they need him to be strong and he knows that. He could get real personal with them, but the battlefield is not the best place to do so.

In Chiefs defen he was trying to focus in saving the galaxy from hos old side chick.
Lol you should hear the conversations I have with my best friend whilst doing nothing.

Chief cuts off conversations all the time in the campaign. This is the most depressing line of his character. Someone asks him something:
“let’s keep going.”
“no.”
“let’s move”.

I also have to disagree on this one. There was so much potential to explore the Chief’s emotions following Halo 4, especially since 343i promised us that it was something that we were going to see in Halo 5 (343i? Lying? It can’t be!). To have that one moment cut off by a simple “No”, especially towards somebody that he considers to be close family, just really ruins all of the character development they made with the Chief. It was handled badly, especially his last line in Halo 4 of “She said that to me once, about being a machine”.
Sure, you can argue that the Chief wanted to focus on the mission and appear strong or whatnot, but in that case, why even have them start the conversation in the first place? All they’ve done there was a tease that insults all of the character development they had in Halo 4.

Have to disagree here. There wasn’t really any “cool” or even good conversations. There was some good information given here and there but as a far as good conversations… that is a big NO.
Wish i knew what training shes exactly refering too though.
Spartan 4 were soliders before aquiring the spartan 4 augmentation. And considered some of the best soliders.
Buck explained that his spartan training was harsh regaurdless of his past experiences and training. It rebroke him lol.

Really the only time where there decent chit-chats were the poorly-done-not-even-two-second missions. And you only get those chit-chats if you don’t do a single damn thing for 30 minutes. And that’s with IWHBYD on. I can’t tell you how mad I was when I played through the campaign for the first time and all I did was walk from A to B and hold X twice and I get an achievement. Those “missions” really pissed me off.
