A Conspiracy Theory

I must stress that despite the flaws I AM enjoying Halo 4… but after discussing stuff with friends and colleagues at work about all the stuff missing from Halo 4 (e.g: game types like Assault, Invasion and Firefight, Weapons (Brute Shot), Vehicles (Hornet or Falcon), a rubbish nerfed version of Forge, lack of Forge maps in Match Making, broken file search etc etc), Plus the fact that the 3 DLC packs mentioned so far will ALL be out by April 2013, I am beginning to think that Halo 5 might be a launch title for the next Xbox which I reckon will be announced at E3 2013 (June) and released in November same year.

Personally I don’t mind this and can maybe view Halo 4 as a Prologue (or if you like a cheeky Beta) to Halo 5… just a conspiracy theory, what are your thoughts?

You’ll know it’s COD if they start releasing new halos annually.

I had the thought as well.

What if 343i just didn’t put in a huge amount of effort in achieving proper longevity for Halo 4 because they knew that it would basically come to a halt with the new wave of consoles?

I think we can expect a new Xbox console around 2014-2015 with an announcement next year for it and Halo 5 will almost certainly be a launch title. But if 343i really did do this all intentionally (not saying they did) for that express purpose…well, I guess I could see it happening and as long as Halo 5 was everything I had hoped (and still hope) Halo 4 would be and more, I wouldn’t care.

Yep, 343 is jumping aboard the COD Express. It’s a proven business model which sacrifices quality for quantity, allowing companies to generate more money while spending less on investing in each installment.

It’s only COD if they do it every year, I would be ok with them releasing Halo 5 for the new Xbox (if it is released next year)… but not Halo 6 if it came out the following year.
