I don’t know if it has been brought to the forum before, but remember in Halo 2 when you pressed (Y) on the controller it brought up first your friends, then if your pressed over on the D-pad you saw that magical page where you had a list of people that you called above friends, your clansmen. A list of people who would join your customs and help you in a clan match. It was beautiful to see. I loved that, Halo 2 was beyond what I could imagine, it was my first online multiplayer game on the OG Xbox. Now, I know the annoying thing about Halo 2’s clans were getting message wanting people to join by random kids, but has that really changed? Even on Reach people were still trying to soliciate me to join their clans. Halo 4 would be perfect to bring this back to. I’d love to have clans again.
Now, I hope people have said that they’ve wanted to bring clans back. I’ve not read much into why clans weren’t brought back with Halo 3, maybe it violates Microsoft’s only “x” number of friends and recent players available to been seen from your account. If so that’s a very silly excuse Microsoft.
How awesome would it be to load up Halo 4 and be able either by pressing (Y) and being able to scroll over to your clan and send them some invites either to help test a forge map you made for slayer, zombies, KotH, CTF, Race, or what have you. Think about the people on Youtube who are always asking for testers on their maps, now with the clan tab you don’t have to fill your friends list with people who either do or do not play Halo. You have a clan of people who only play Halo! Now I know that there are websites for clans and what not, but that is way too much 3rd party affiliation to go throught. It would be way more simple to just pull up a seperate tab for clan and be done wiht the hassel.
In closing I hope, if not already, I swayed you to press the subject to 343i, if they really wanted to make the community happy, they’d make that update probably not this January, but hopefully soon to bring clans back.
