Yeah I agree with ya. Overall infinites been showing 343i’s colors lately. Overall the game just seems like a cash grab, and about it being more predatory than fortnite. I 100% agree. They’re selling armors what where free in previous games which is absolute bs, making us buy colors is even dumber…. Hell. People are going back to halo 5 now because of how infinite is. What’s worse is 343i specifically said the halo player base is the reason they’re so far behind in attracting a “broader audience” an audience that doesn’t exist or just doesn’t care about the game…. in all seriousness what audience are they looking for. The people they are looking for who don’t know halo like the rest of us don’t care for the game. They’ll play once or twice and never touch halo again. (Pardon my rant)
Me and my sister are prime examples. I grew up with halo, (started on my dads Xbox original playing halo 2 at four years old lmao) so since I grew up with halo obviously I care more about halo than any other game. It’s a game I enjoy more than others because it’s what I grew up with in child hood.
My little sister on the other hand started with fortnite. I got her to play halo once but after that she never played it again, and when I offered her to come join she stayed on fortnite. (I ain’t mad) but that’s what goes on. She started on fortnite and only plays fortnite because she grew up with that. So she invests more time to it than any other game.
So overall. The audience 343i “wants” they’re never gonna get because it simply doesn’t exist…. people don’t care. To them it’s just another game that exists within the thousands of other games. 343i dropped the ball on this one and it shows. So they’re gonna try and funnel out money and make poor excuses of “oh, we heard your feedback” but they never act on that stuff. Shoot. They go the opposite direction from what people want each time!
So 343i If you see this, I suggest setting these problems straight right now and just work with the community instead of fight. Because right now we’re all you have……

I literally just got done saying this exact thing. Those players don’t exist, we invested our lives into halo.
We bought the books. The merchandise. Midnight releases. Built our own armors in homages. Fanfics, lan parties, clan wars. We have posters, collectors items, we have SPENT our thousands.
Why are we being asked to spend hundreds more? So many design options were made without interest of the fans. Fortnite and Warzone players have already left. My good friend grew up playing COD. He will play halo when I ask him but he outright said to me; “Yeah, I could play halo, but I’m not going to play solo till this game gets fixed.”
I got him so hyped for Infinite that my team of 4 went back and played through all the campaigns up to infinite (where 4 player wasn’t valid we did 2 man squads). Now, one of them is trapped in Stardew, another in sea of thieves, he’s back to cod and I’m sitting in the sidelines like… please don’t make me live in destiny.
And one of the biggest reasons that keeps them away (I promise this rant wasn’t for nothing!), Is how God awful color customization and armor earn outlets are. Our clan colors are White base with black and Bronze gold highlight/lowlights and red tertiary if it allows. EVERY coating like that is locked behind a paywall.
Tell me 343 how this is the most inclusive and player expressive halo yet?

Your Armor clan colors are are dope ngl. Mine were black and purple or black and aqua blue. But from what I’m seeing happen in infinite. Those colors are probably never going to exist, and if they do I’ll have to probably pay a horrid amount of cash for an armor coating…… but sadly, we the halo community need to accept that halo isn’t for us anymore…… 343 even said it. We are in the way…… Us who who have stuck with halo through thick and thin. Hope season 3 is a reboot of the game and it is actually good, if not I most likely won’t be seen on infinite for a while.

If we can get a good forge with bots or ai and manage team scales and colors again, clan wars would be massive in infinite.
That’s what else is suffering so massively is customs and clans. Theyve all but dissolved the once crazy clan wars.
I remember this one time I was sitting at the table of a clan meeting discussing a clan merger when out of no where a player who we all thought belonged to Thier clan assassinates the leader and manages to make it out to the far side of the map, effectively assassinating and dissolving that clan (via clan war laws) it was by far the best thing I’ve ever seen.
Jeez I bet. I was a pmc contractor. Aka “guns for hire” so me and my squad would sport intimidating designs lol. We made legit money for “hits” and we did well at that as well. My friend did a lot more than me tho and he scored $1k in a couple weeks.

The oni and unsc groups loved us for the fact that we where “disciplined” and that we had so much attention to detail. Not to mention how well we did our jobs. Made good payouts!

Not if they sell patterns and materials like literally every other game out there (anger directed at company not you!).
It’s honestly just predatory to not have it that way. Even destiny let’s you retain colors for a small in-game price

Hmm… unfortunately your probably right…it’s all about the dolla dolla bills right? & why don’t we have access to previous Skins like in so many other games?? Yes this is becoming quite frustrating indeed.

Given the recent state of this entire game… it’s lack of CROSSPLAY toggle, lack of content & now overall lack of lustre. I don’t think my wife or I will be playing again any time soon either… definitely sure as hell won’t be spending any money on this little “gem”.

I agree. While the color cores are a nice BASE…It still could use a bit of touch uo… like since I don’t use shoulderpads, I could have blue lines on my upler arms and legs.
Also…I want the TAC/Kukri back in store…I was out of town when it was available without internet access. Enough with vaulting armors!

Just going to do a little bump after seeing the God awful excuse for coating coming out. We REALLY need to keep pushing for them to just sell materials and patterns plus color pallets or we will continue to have crap store prices and price gouged to have Khaki on vehicles for more then 10 bucks.
Even if 343 didn’t go with this id love it if I could at least have what they said they were going to do the Halo Reach armor and customization. if I unlock a helmet it’s unlocked. done that’s it not you have to spend 30 hours on the MKV and then 30 more on the MVII. cause I play mostly on the V then I for one game want to play on the VII and see it’s got nothing unlocked and go “right that’s why I don’t use you” and now there’s the third core. And of course, everything has to be on a Battle Pass why can’t it just be play the game not stupid challenges maybe the challenges boost you along or something but having it be the only way to progress the BP is scuffed AF . and i wouldn’t want losses to give XP or maybe less depending, but still I think it shouldn’t be how it is now. Yes, it is fun and rewarding to unlock new armor pieces but it becomes a hassle when you have to do it multiple times for the armors and they don’t share anything. Then a new armor comes out and you do the same thing and on top of that everyone is more than likely gonna have the same armor on, cause they did the BP. but the way I’m talking even if something new comes out you’ll see people with the new helmet, one MKv shoulder an MKII on the other, a Rakshasa chest, and Yoroi knees. or a 1000 other combos you never know with other cores they may bring.
I have a compromise to this idea and I’m shocked it’s not highlighted about the OP but…
How about having a coating mixer, where players are free to pick from the coatings/materials/stuff they have to create their own? Incentivize the player to get more of them, etc. Let them make their armor with what they’ve bought at least.

I’m relatively fine with the current system, but it would be cool to have basic options for color customization unlocked by default. For example, my usual spartan has white armor, and it would be great if that was more of an option. It wouldn’t have to be anything special (i.e. no metallic white, or multiple colors). I just want the solid primary colors to be available cross core and free.
