As a former Destiny player I can say this is a terrible idea. Grinding unlock materials just to get basic customization options for armor and colors is an extremely negative issue over there. I anticipate that a similar situation in Halo would go just as badly.

That’s because you need to accept the reward in your drop list before the next reward start progressing.
Meaning you had to watch 1 hour, accept the AR coating, watch 1 hour, accept the reward Sidekick coating, watch 1 hour, accept the BR coating.
It’s too late now but 343 already said that the Drop reward will be back later and when they do they’ll tell us on the HCS twitter account

I saw another one that was like, just let you select which pieces of armor are colored by certain coatings. Either of these would be VERY MUCH apreciated

Unlocking the Armor Coatings and Armor Core interchangeability would go a long way in mending fences with your pissed off base, 343.
“Clipping” between pieces or whatever IS a relatively easy fix (I have spoken to a good friend in the industry confirming this).
If you don’t take these arbitrary limits off, you will continue to bleed player counts.
I mean seriously here! The darn Bots have more customization than us players who pay money!!!

They could take notes from Warframe an Sell armor Coating Pallets, instead of armor coating sets individually. Like having 15 Unique Colors/Textures in a single pallet, that you can apply to various parts of the armor.
Examples:
-“Toy Sprtan Pallet” 15 Different color options, each of the colors its made to look like Shiny plastic.
-“Camo Combo” A pallet with 10 different types of Camflage, as well as some colors for the Body Suit.
-“Battle Damaged” A pallet with 12 Diffrent colors of battle damage armor, and 3 Body suit colors.
-“Undead” Zombie Themed Pallet, to possibly go with a zombie themed armor set.
The entire game could carry itself on the sales of these pallets, because the level of customization would be extreme.
Pallets could be Sold with a Range of Textures, Colors, and Levels of Sheen.
Would be more exciting, and probably much more interesting thing to sell.
The armor coating system looks like it has a bunch of variable options that could be changed around.
Because realistically,
with the current model just… sucks.
A vast majority of players won’t spend any money for the armors currently available, both in that they are mostly remarkably ugly and drained of any vibrant colors (Except red), and they offer ZERO player freedom in terms of customization.

For me, your idea is very cool, and maybe choose a color for every part of our armor. Imagine one color for the chestplate or the knees, that’s gonna be cool no?Ann all the variation in a helmet (for exemples) can be unlock by a challenge!
Maybe the return of the hayabusa armor from halo 3 by a big quest in multiplayer where we need to finish it with the same team mate, like the “phantom” in Battlefield 4 to unlock the bow and some content very cool!
So, I hope with the time this halo become better…
This is too good to actually be implemented, maybe if it was somehow more profitable for 343 than the current model : /

It is, but apparently isn’t for 343.
Think about it, they can’t even realign the Cyber Showdown visor until S2.
i just don’t see value in bought cosmetics. I want something hard to get that pushes me to want to play better to unlock it. the cosmetics just don’t have value for me. I would easily spend $60 on a halo game that has unlockable customization to reward skilled players. I can’t buy cosmetics knowing they could have made customization free but chose not to, so that they could drain our banks over time.

A simple fix, If you purchased the full game or have gamepass, you get to access that Halo 3/5 style of armor coating with primary/secondary/detail colors (also to the Emblems) if not, you get locked to the current system.

You can still make this game a success (don’t lie to yourselves; it’s not one now despite the propaganda) if you fix the multitude of issues your fans are talking about on these forums.
Please, just fix it! Most of us will come back.
What 343 needs to do is make it so that you can use ANY armor coating for ALL of the armor cores because I was really annoyed when I found out that I can’t use scorpion punch with the yoroi armor core! I like the coating system, but it needs to be rearranged in a way that allows players to put any coating on whichever core they like. I want to know what you guys think about my idea!

Yeah, universal armor coating customization seems to be a universally requested option by the community. I hope to see its implementation sooner rather than later.
Something similar to Destiny 2’s shader system implemented in Halo Infinite where we have the option of a per-piece armor coating customization would go a LONG way in making the community more lenient to Infinite’s customization systems.
Yes !!! That would be great . I hate the yoroi armor so i dont get anything from the events that are only for it. ( wich seems to be always) would be great if I could at least use the armor coating on other armor. Or whatever just something. We have a bunch of stuff but its all spread out so we still have little in each armor category. Also I’d love to have a female body option , we have the voice option so it would make sense to have a body to go with it .
And Destiny 2’s armor shaders are clean!
Apparently ever since the game came out, 343 has been ignoring our suggestions. the customization that there is currently is a limit for many to be able to do what we really want. A visual benefit that we would really like to see implemented and that would really be a reason to spend our money on something worthwhile. All this makes me think, would I spend more money if they introduce more cores in future seasons? My answer is NO. For this very reason it is a good argument for 343i to generate extra income than what you are currently receiving.
The coating system was a lie, the coatings were there to monetize what was once free, a poor monetization at that. They promised a coating for everyone’s choice. Still no purple and pink. So, cool. 343i needs to just stop, hand the IP over to someone else. They’re predatory with in game store sales, you can barely unlock anything without buying the battle pass, they made the game free to play when nobody asked for that. Ugh, i’m just done, i think. It’s obvious these people hate halo, and hate us.
