A COMPLETE map editing system... THE FORGE

Forge is fun in all but it is a rather simple map editing system that has limitations. Forge 3.0 needs to give the player complete control of what to make.

I think we should have normal forging on all maps and a large map (twice the size of forge world) called THE FORGE.

THE FORGE is a completely flat land. You can change the land to grass, concrete, desert, etc. You can even delete the Floor itself and have space stations.

You can edit Gravity settings

You can change the skybox to be Halo ring, Space, City, Sheikh world, Space battle, Night, Day.

Environment: You can change the Forges environment by adding Trees, rivers, oceans, AI animals, birds, fish, Flood.

Structures: Every single structure in the game is available to you and you can make massive skyscrapers to rural villages.

Money is no object on THE FORGE

AI: can spawn enemy and friendly AI’s and can designate them on teams. You can set a range which the AI’s will travel.

vehicle: all vehicle are available on THE FORGE and it is large enough for Scarab battles.

That is THE FORGE and please tell me what you think.

Also, Project ANVIL:

A Map editor used on the PC and lets you download maps to your xbox 360. Only usable with THE FORGE.

You mean like Farcry 2?

> You mean like Farcry 2?

Yes, and I think we need a similar, possibly more advanced map editor for Halo 4.

Very ambitious, only question remains, will it crash the game?

Adding all of this stuff will take up too much room on the disk and won’t really leave much room for content such as Firefight, campaign and custom games.

Read the post below me.

Jesus. You’d probably need another disc for all that.

Then give us another disk!

Then make the game on 2, or 3 separate discs.
Disc 1:
-Campaign.
-Xbox Live Co-OP campaign.

Disc 2:
-Custom games.
-Match making.

Disc 3:
-Forge.
-Theater.

You need to convince Microsoft if you want a few extra disks.

Maybe, Maybe not. Remember, THE FORGE (for now) is just 1 large map that gives you near limitless creativity. The maps you make are stored on your end.

It is SO BIG, 1 map could be used for 3 different games. Like a griffball section, slayer arena, etc.

I also want to post my second idea, project ANVIL.

ANVIL would be a Map editor sponsored by 343i that actually allows you to make maps on the PC and have the maps sent to your xbox 360 for download as a map file.

Project ANVIL is a bit ambitious but would allow for more forging capabilities.

Nice name, stolen from Minecraft perhaps?

Actually ANVIL was a map making program made by Bungie for the Marathon series. It allowed you to have full customization of the maps and skyboxes.

i like some of these ideas… but seriously a scarab battle… in order for a scarab battle to even be somewhat of a fair game would be id they made a playlist for 16 vs 16. 32 total… and for 2 no halo game has ever been able to even drive a scarab other than Halo Wars… and thats a one time thing anyway… i like the idea of anvil that would be very nice… but lets be realistic here… some things are possible others are not… i do like the gravity setttings in like certain areas as well

The scarab thing would be more of a custom game addition. For fun not balance.

So every time I want to flip to theater I would have to pop in and out a disk?
I mean get what your going at but, Jesus Christ that would be a -Yoink-.
I just hope it’s cheap to produce multi disk games and doesn’t eat away at the budget.

I don’t think you’ll be getting this until Halo goes on whatever next gen console comes next. The Xbox 360 is quite old now.

Perhaps for Halo 5 throw this idea around.

You gotta think with the possibilites

The 360 may be old but it can run games like BF3 with large maps and large amounts of planes and tanks and players.

This is 1 Map that would give player near infinite possibilities.I am sure it can fit.

Halo 3 forge
Halo Reach forge

Mix them together and

Boooooooooooom epic halo 4 forge

Maybe less gray maps …

It would be too much data to easily transfer from one player to the next. It would be nice, but it’s not happening.
