A chance for ai in multiplayer?

> The thing you’re missing is, Microsoft bought the rights to Halo, and built 343i in order to get a new Halo game every year. Obviously this won’t be a true sequel every year like from 4 to 5 but that means we can see one offs like ODST and Halo Wars.

> With that in mind, the next Xbox is pretty much set to be announced at E3 next year and launch in the Fall, with the inevitable addition of a Halo game. So what is a better way to kick off a new version of Xbox Live that will launch with the new system then to bring the game that made Xbox Live the premier online console service years ago with it? Halo 2 (insert word here) will/should launch alongside the next Xbox to bring in huge amount of nostalgia and pave the way for Halo 5 in 2014 with a new engine and super refined Xbox Live features.

Problem is, Halo 2 just doesn’t have nearly as much nostalgia-value as Combat Evolved did. When you think of Halo 2, you think “Halo 2, sequel to Halo:CE”; few people really care about what it did to multiplayer, even if they should. When you think of Halo: Combat Evolved, you think “Combat Evolved, the game that sold the Xbox, launched the Halo franchise, and revolutionized the FPS genre, allowing it to be brought to consoles”.

It’s just not reasonable a request.

I totally get that. Halo 2 may not have that, this kicked off a franchise that is one of the strongest in the industry pedigree, but it set a standard for online play on a console. Yea, I know I’m really centered on that but I think Microsoft is going to come out and try to redefine the online console experience.

I would love to see Halo 2 remade on a brand new engine which acts as the foundation for Halo 5. Would I be surprised if they drop an ODST on us? No, not at all because what’s more exciting than remaking a classic? Bringing a brand new story to the table.

And for the record, both Halo Wars (Thank you Ensemble) and ODST are great games in my opinion.

I don’t see how bots won’t work
