Marginally better than an emblem spread out over several vehicles, weapons, and armor cores I guess.
Sometimes these weekly rewards are good and sometimes they’re barely worth the time. Even the shop has been pretty sad lately. Incentive is running low.
The canteen is such a lame reward but so are the majority of the weekly rewards. Not with the amount of time required to unlock. You’d think 343 would have figured that out by now.
This isn’t just on 343i. It’s on the players to figure a few things out too. Things like play for fun and stop when you’re not having fun. Things like nobody is forcing you to unlock armor you don’t like. I’d think if the weekly reward is not worth the grind, than it would free everyone to play how they want instead of being limited to what the challenge system encourages.
Really wished that thing was shared with the Mark V Core, but it’s Mark VII…
Also, considering it’s size, that better be Vodka in that Flask…
Wait a second how is it not on them? It’s their system, and it’s there by their design. Yes, I have a choice not to go after the weekly item but if you are going to put it there to reward players and give us something to work towards since the battle pass doesn’t even last half a season then make it worthwhile. Our population of active players is dire compared to launch hence the point do better at the weekly rewards.
Sometimes the game is just so content starved there’s nothing left to do but grind the weekly. My friends list of fellow halo players is only getting smaller, randoms rarely ever use their mics so there’s no one to talk to, not even the enemy team to talk to like the good ol’ days. Game modes are limited almost as bad as the map rotation… but I want to keep playing so I look for any little granule of content I haven’t already experienced.
At this point I’ve only missed out on two weekly rewards - both during the second weeks of LSS because I just couldn’t do it.
(I haven’t unlocked the canteen yet, but I only have the Ultimate challenge left.)
I’ve only gotten the weekly a handful of times, because even though I do like playing Infinite, the amount I have to play to get the weekly is just too much, and it’s not usually something that’s worth the time investment. Plus, the challenge system is very annoying and not fun.
That’s not what is said. I said that it isn’t JUST up to 343i to figure stuff out. As in 343i and the players need to figure a few things out.
Lose/lose. When they make the reward a good looking armor, people complain that the challenges are too hard and that the system is toxic and anti-player and it encourages fomo. When they make the reward a bad looking armor, people complain about how there is no point or incentive to play. If they ever bring rotate old rewards back in, people will complain that 343i has ran out of ideas and now there is no reason to play.
It’s safe to say the population did not dip this much because of armor. Even if the weekly reward is amazing, it will not bring back even 5% of the lost players that week. There would need to be a game worth coming back to first.
This is a huge issue. I was expecting to be playing this with my a lot of my friends like i used to when Halo 2 came out in college. But 343i dropped the ball big time. I still hop back in every now and again, but infinite’s well of content is dry. If you ever want to stop playing, you should. At least for now since there isn’t anything you’ll miss out on. Burnout is not a good feeling. The Mcc is still there and i think it’s getting an update soon. Or you can jump into game pass and find something to distract you until this game is fixed.
I think the problem with “lame” weekly rewards is that there is no challenge to getting them anymore. The community has complained so much about the challenges being challenging (
) that they’ve made them way too easy to achieve and now everyone has a “lame” canteen. There’s no exclusivity, no worth to the items when they hand everything out so we can all play Barbie™ Spartans
Doesn’t help that MS doesn’t include basic headsets with their consoles anymore either. I bought a brand new headset for this game, and my comms chatter is just tumbleweeds rustling in the wind.
Right? I got through all 20 yesterday. It’s not like I’m swapping them all out either. I have 48 swaps as it is because they keep giving them away when something goes wrong plus the four from gamepass perks every month.
I have so many damn swaps from promos and ones they just give away.
You severely underestimate the importance of hydration! Even spartans gets a little thirsty sometimes. Or maybe it’s filled with whiskey. That sounds more former-ODST-turned-spartan to me
As small as it is compared to the Spartan model it looks like a flask!

the weekly is just too much grind. After completing the battle pass it isnt worth it anymore
First, an ugly salmon-color coating, a coating the exact same as the default orange, a knife as a chest piece, and now, a canteen, for when your spartan gets thirsty.
Even the twitch drops are better than this!
The whole challenge system is just a boring chore. Not like MCC where you chip away at a dailies, weeklies and monthlies.
I mean, we didn’t quite ask for this. A lot of us just pointed out that an emblem for a weekly grind that could be like 16hrs (looking at you CTF wins week) wasn’t really a great experience…
