While there was a time where my main focus was on Halo’s multiplayer, that’s changed in recent years. As such, my long-held thoughts may be outdated. So I decided to play a few social matchmaking games with all games and modes selected.
When I got yet another SWAT match but this time on Halo 4, a part of me groaned. Not only do I have mixed feelings on the mode, but I absolutely hate Halo 4’s multiplayer. To my surprise, Halo 4’s SWAT is now easily my favorite version of the mode. The beefy sound design and overall movement work really well with it.
So yeah. Halo 4 now has that going for it.

I hated 4 when it came out. The campaign was just a slog to play through and I didn’t really enjoy the multiplayer much on the OG 360. I played it from launch until about June of 2013 when I went back to Reach and polished off the last few commendations I needed to get to 100% completion. I tried it off and on for the next couple years but inevitably always came back to reach.
Recently I’ve been playing FFA here and, after having difficulties finding games searching just reach and CE I decided to add 4. Much to my surprise, I don’t mind playing those games when they come up and in fact tend to do quite well in them.
I don’t search SWAT(pretty much everything else) but I understand what you’re saying.
