A bit confused.

I honestly have no idea what the 1-50 ranking system actually does.

Could anyone enlighten me, please?

its like this the more games you win gives you a better rank which lets you compete against better people so people at level 50 high would be better than people at 30 high because the level 50 guys are more consistent Winning to Losing ratio.

As you play certain gamy types (team Slayer) and you win your rank will increase. You will go from 1-50. Let’s say your a lvl 25 and you join a game. It will put you with people around that same lvl to even the playing field.

If you looses many games your rank will decrease. Well it worked like that in Halo 3.

It’s the general rank you’ve managed to achieve that (supposively) matches you up with people on similar level.

A lot of people also view it as a measure of their “manhood”.

So basically it just increase the skill gap?

I’ve played Halo 3 enough to understand that the more I suck, the less EXP I’m going to get and whatnot.

In a way 1-50 is demeaning, because if your not good at Halo 3, your stuck with lower ranked people (assuming they’re still around).
The 1-50 is for people who want to boost their own ego if they can manage to beat other rank 50s.

Which is why Reach implemented the Ranking (recruit to Inheritor), so everyone can play with everyone and not be segregated by skill (What better way to learn then by facing stronger opponents).

But there are people who prefer the old system because they want more of a challenge (even though that challenge would make them look like Recruits)

In my honest opinion, if they implemented the good of both the Reach and H3 ranking system into H4, I’d be extremely happy. I’d be happy with it, no matter what. But I was never good at ranking up on H3. I’d go up one step just to go back two.

I don’t think I’m that bad of a player, I have the smarts for situations, and I can stay cool under pressure.
