Hello 343! Even though I do love this game I feel there is a lot of aspects that really do kick it down for me. So here I have made you a nice and easy to read list showing everything that we as longtime Halo fans consider currently wrong with Halo 4, in hope you may actually act or even at least respond to them! C:
(In no particular order)

The Warthog is literally made out of balsa wood, needs to be tougher.

The texture quality shown in trailers is 10x better than in game.

Active downloads cannot be done in solo campaign.

Boltshot’s secondary fire has too much range/power.

Boltshot’s primary fire is too weak.

DMR’s rate of fire is far to high.
-
Lightrifle has some issues with hit detection.
-
The SR system, 130 is far to small of a goal for hardcore players, need moar.

If you have host, 80% you’ll win. Ditch the P2P, add servers to make fair play.

Duel wielding, I don’t see any valid reason it’s not even in campaign.

Spartan Ops bugs, AI glitching through walls, floors ect.

Theater does not support Campaign or Spartan Ops, yet you used it for trailers.

Freecam in theater retains player HUD and Jeff Steitzer.(announcer)

Fine editing tool was removed from forge. WHY.

Yet more canonical errors. (Mark 7 armour in prologue flashback.)

The god awful menu UI, Reach’s was PERFECT.

Campaign scenery in main areas with no clipping. (Can walk though rocks ect.)

Suppressor has far to large bloom/spread.

Plasma Repeater has little ammo and power, no point it even being available.

Buff the PP’s primary shot power and lower the tracking on it’s secondary.

Custom maps have sickening frame rate, literally gives me motion sickness.

SPARTAN MILLERS HORRIBLE VOICE ACTING.

Soundtrack is good, but needs more rock and less… lullabies.

Energy Sword’s sound is… Well doesn’t work and sounds -Blam!- when it does.

Skull need to be found in campaign, adding more of a reason to re-play.

The Flood riding shotgun… that’s something that would be fixed alpha build.

No way to turn off forced colours in Flood.

Cannot lower sword for machinima.
-
Weapons raise when moving if lowered.
-
Pulse grenade should be buffed and ammo increased.
-
Johnson did not a get woman nor was he present in game. (He’s invincible guys.)

No final boss? Pressing LT to kill Bornstreller isn’t very thrilling.

The kill times should be just a teensy bit faster for small arms. We need to attract a larger following, and people are used to faster kill times. Shouldn’t be as fast as CoD, but I think if it were just a little faster, it would be perfect. Just the right amount of run-and-gun and cautious gameplay style. Right now it’s a little too run-and-gun. For example, if the DMR kills in 1.67 seconds, then it should kill in 1.5 seconds.

Reduce all precision weapons’ rate of fire, make bloom on the DMR spread and retract faster to reward paced shots, and make BR and DMR 4 Shot kills with the Lightrifle a 5 shot kill unscoped and a 3 shot kill scoped, the Carbine a 6 shot kill, and the magnum a 5 shot kill.
- Adjust automatic weapons’ bloom and damage. Storm Rifle, and Suppressor bloom expand a tad too fast. Bring it down by maybe 5% and they should be good. Damage should be increased just a teensy bit. For example, if it takes 30% of a clip to kill someone, then it should take 25-27% with the update. Kill times in close combat should always be faster than precision weapons unless the user is simply bad. If the DMR would kill in 1.5 seconds, the AR would kill in 1.3 if most/all of the shots land.

Limit spawning with stickies to one. We should still be able to carry two by default if we pick them up from the map.

Reduce the Boltshot’s range to super-close for 1 shot kill. Beyond 1.5 meters, it should take down most/all shields, but not kill.

Re-work a few armor abilities. Promethean Vision should have reduced range and speed of scanning. Active camo should leave you almost fully visible unless you are stationary and a longer recharge. Autoturret needs a little more damage per second and a tad faster recharge. Hardlight shield needs to activate&deactivate quicker with maybe 10% more defense. Regeneration field needs to regenerate shields a tad faster. Jetpack needs to use up fuel more quickly but reach maximum height faster to compensate, with a longer recharge. Thruster pack needs more distance and speed.

The Supressor is easily one of the best Rapid Fire weapons in the game, it’s almost too easy to get a kill with it when doing CQC type maps.
Warthog is easily destroyable, yes, but hasn’t it always been 2 Plasmas to kill it? Heck, it used to take one if someone had host in Halo 3!

yeh but the hog is worthless now due to PP and stickies all off spawn via loadouts
I agree with 90% of this. I hope 343 can address a lot of these issues in the feb TU.
I think the main concern is the DMR/Boltshot weapons need tweaking.
343 need to ask fans what they want, get some sort of poll on the site and people can vote on what they want changed/added/removed.

I have no problem using/destroying a Warthog.
The problem is bad players driving/gunning.
I miss the meta scoring in campaign as in Reach and H3. Loved getting points for killing stuff.

As someone who has reached 130 playing mostly btb I have never seenanyone do work with a chain hog. In fact when i hear a hog on a map that isnt exile I run toward the sound for an easy sticky kill.
the hog is a shadow of it H3 self. Totally worthless
100% agree with your list on every point, as I’m sure most other players would, including 343i.

And as someone who plays mostly BTB, I do agree.
However, anything is an effective weapon when put in the right hands.

I think that would be a good change.

FASTER kill times? Are you high? You already kill people insanely fast in this game, and you want the LR to be a 3 shot kill when scoped in?

I’d really love to hear what they actually used for the trailers/vidocs. That’s one of the reasons why I got Halo 4, seemingly breathtaking, phenomenal views.
Oh and don’t forget how the terminals can’t be viewed in-game.
As for the boss battle, a Promethean Knight General or a larger than some Brute Chieftain would suffice.

So if you reduce rate of fire to compensate for a damage boost, you’re left with the exact same kill times, which as I’ve said, are already too quick. If the LR was a 3 shot kill, team shooting with it would make this game unplayable.
I think we should be looking to increase the kill times, not speed them up. You want that crap, go play COD.
Ok then maybe keep the amount of shots to kill for the weapons but I still think the kill times should be JUST THE SMALLEST TEENSY BIT faster than what they are now. Like I said the difference should be fractions of a second but it would make a difference.
And you can reduce rate of fire but increase damage and still get a faster kill time, dope.

You should learn what the word “compensate” means before you use it, chump.
Nobody with any skill in this game wants faster kill-times. It’s not Halo.
It’s not the top of my priorities so I’ll let it slide but the other points(stronger vehicles, nerfed boltshot, adjusted AAs) need to be implemented.
