I was wondering why after a year into halo 5. No less than 1000 posts on waypoint about farming problems including one from yours truly. What would possibly make 343 industries lower the fireteam limit to 6 in warzone. Why now? Why when almost every team has moved on from farming and tried to make wins as fast as possible to try and not ruin the experience of their competitors.
Then it was pointed out to me from one of the leaders of another clan. It’s all about Req use. When teams went from farming to quick coring the amount of req use dropped substantially. Usually these are 5-6 minute games where maybe a whiplash is the highest req used by either team. Where as when “some” teams were farming the req use was at its highest, 20 minute game filled with big ticket reqs as opposed to quick game with little to no reqs. This is why 343 is now changing things. This is not a saving grace sent to warzone players. This is an attempt to get higher req turnover. I understand it now. It makes sense, it’s a business move. It’s why after a full year of farming complaints they did nothing, and now that the effects of the req use are shown as a direct result of quick coring they have stepped in.
But, there is another way to go about this. One that will keep solo players and groups that run in a fireteam in more even games. AND at the same time ensure a higher req use is maintained. It’s very easy to implement. 2 warzone lobbies. One for solo queue and the other for any players in a fireteam. This way one portion of the player base is not being alienated. Also in regards to req use the solo que games will usually be 20 minute games with lots of req use. When 2 teams match each other they will both call the biggest and best reqs they possibly can. The amount of reqs used in warzone will sky rocket, while keeping the players you currently have happy and involved.
I never liked the argument that warzone was the casual playlist and teams don’t belong. I feel that with this last update that argument has been tossed out the window and ran over by a large semi. There is a huge social playlist now in arena, and the customs games browser is a ticket to a endless supply of social content for the community.
This update is so good. It’s what I’ve been waiting for since the game launched. But sadly it ruined the game mode I spend 2 nights a week playing And have built very solid friendships on this tradition. I’m not ready to give up on that tradition yet. There is a much better way to go about this guys. While keeping 343 making money and keeping the warzone community happy and healthy.
You really can have both here 343. Keep everyone happy and make your money. It would be a wise business venture.

They would have to make an extremely hard firefight to accommodate turbo… I’d love to see that.
Or could it be that a recent update (belatedly) increased the telemetry data collected from matches and they now accept that there was an issue to be addressed?
Doesn’t mean I agree with the temporary solution though but this would allow them to collect data with different variables.

I mentioned this same principal in another thread, i believe 100% that this is less about blow outs and farming and more about their bank account.
You brought up up a simple solution that I think everyone could agree with…
unless 343 is lazy… but I dont think that’s the case is it 343?!?
Not a bad idea, but i prefer warzone turbo. Or just have the party size go back to normal. I played in a big group last night and it was frustrating to organize and play together thanks to the new update. Many wanted to play warzone, but we were forced to play btb.

And that’s the problem right there. It’s an experience many of us were able to enjoy until now.
