A Better Solution For Armor Progression

I’m not the only one who wishes the battle pass gone. Armor progression should not be tied to one. Here’s a suggestion for Infinite’s armor progression. Earn armor pieces by playing the game like past Halo games. If someone wants the armors early, they can pay for a entire armor set of their choice. Like, if someone wants the full ODST armor set early, they can buy it. There you go, a better solution than the battle pass. It’s a win win for both the players and 343i. Free players can earn pieces of armor by playing, and 343i can earn money from those who buy the sets.

I wish there was a hybrid system.

A system where playing the game like normal, and completing achievements give armor pieces like H4. Buying them with a “free” currency like Reach’s system would be health too.

The battle pass should have exclusive gear (Like Reach’s armor), by no means should I be going through a battle pass where at level 90+ is the Mark VII helmet is a helmet they PROMOTED as a default type of helmet. It shouldn’t have been in the BP.

We need a health mix, but hopefully the Fracture: Tenrai Event will change things for free to play players.

I don’t wanna be the negative nancy here because I loved that unlock system from the Bungie days but since this multiplayer game is fully F2P I don’t see that being viable for 343 on a monetary standpoint.

If this had been a part of the paid campaign like normal I’d whole heartedly agree but since they offered this entirely free I don’t think they can even consider it. If I had to guess they’re taking the money from sales to fund Infinite DLC since I recall them stating they have a 10 year plan (oh joy the cursed plan) on this.

If I had to say anything in what could be used as an alternative from my experience playing F2P games I’d say unlock the floodgates (ohoho) and open up a player market. Cosmetics are potentially drops but tradable among players with credits being a tradable currency that is used to say pay for non tradable shop exclusives. The money still comes from somewhere and F2P players have the opportunity to trade up to their ideal cosmetic sets. Of course battle pass content remains non tradable but having some random crap be available to pass around would be nice as well.

This feels like a system from Warframe, but the thing with this idea is that Warframe is a completely different game than Halo. More notably being a MMO.

I’d rather have the H4 system, and give the players commendations like every Halo before, once the career challenges are finish, they reward armor sets.

For example, the H4 “War Master PRML” armor. It required a commendation called King of the Hill Victory - Master commendation (150 King of the Hill wins).

Allowing the players to unlock cosmetics by grinding modes, kills, weapon kills, etc. and rewarding the player is a much better system than a BP, Event, or even buying them.
