What if there was a negative/punishing medal. i.e team member drops your shield and you die from an enemy headshot straight after. The griefer gets a “Traitor” medal or something, for assisting in the death of a team mate, which could either lead to a booting option, or simply minus points/kills.
Tell me what you think. Discuss. Burn to the ground
I like the boot idea…but it would have to boot everytime. That said, if you throw a grenade and your buddy jumps on and then is headshotted by the enemy, it’s not your fault he was a moron.
I know its gone gold, but there’s nothing wrong with ideas being thrown out there
> Anytime you create a medal, people will want to have the most of them.
Yeah that is one thing I had thought of…but if they made a big enough deal out of punishing the player, it would have more of an impact than no punishment at all.
But you are right…

I think the betrayal system itself needs to be more sophisticated.
In reach, griefers kept running in front of my tank/hog/wraith in order to boot me and take my vehicle. This needs a fix. Now or for H5.
I suggest adding code that lists amount of times you have been betrayed by friendly splatter, and % accuracy of shots fired on friendlies. If numbers exceed limit per time, it results in temp ban.
> if you throw a grenade and your buddy jumps on and then is headshotted by the enemy, it’s not your fault he was a moron.
Yeah. Thats true, and we can’t always rely on being put in with like-minded people of common sense. But what if there was a mechanism that made grenades only half damage to friendlies…doesn’t remove the issue, but its an improvement…
> I like no friendly fire to prevent all of this.
But half the excitement is dodging around your team mates to take out the bad guys xD otherwise everyone would lob grenades in no matter what the situation…

That sound feasable, but then the % of accuracy could be loop holed by firing randomly whilst aiming towards the player, or something to that effect, right?

I don’t like this idea. If you give back stabbers a medal they will go out of their way to get the highest count of those medals. Just like people brag how high “% Avoided” they have on their XBL profile. You’re basically giving them an incentive to back stab other players which is the opposite to a betrayal system should be.
> I like the idea. Can’t tell you how many people act like -Yoinks!- online just to get a laugh or get my power weapon.
Well, being team-killed for the sniper on Hemmorage/blood Gulch/whatever was what triggered this idea in my head, but I never really thought it through till recently.

But then after being booted a limited number of times, they’d be banned.
BANHAMMER! xD

But for how long? That’s thin ice territory. Do you ban them permanently? Then they will rage for wasting money. No amount of tough love will solve this part of the issue. Ban them for an amount of time and you may have a solution but they’ll just do it again.
343i needs to solve the problem before it starts. Maybe taking away friendly fire or having a voting option.
I would like to see some point style system…a player gaining points per shot that hits a friendly target and after so many points that player is booted. I know there are times that players are sloppy with shots and hit a team mate but the “max number to be booted” doesnt have to be low, to allow for the casual accident.
