A Battlefield styled Halo Game?

Would you like to see a Halo game like this? Would the concept work? And what would the Game be like?

It quite simply wouldn’t work.

You mean it cant be done on consoles?

IT could be done on consoles. In BF3 on the Xbox 360 you can play with around 24 people online (correct me if I am wrong) so imagine on the “nextbox” more people could be in a match.

It would be interesting I guess, though it would need a lot of people to keep things fun on those huge -Yoink- battlefield type maps.

Why does everyone thing that the Halo Universe forum is now the General Discussion forum?

First off, wrong forum. This is the place for discussing the lore of the games and books, not things like new games/gametypes.

Now, to answer your question, it basically would just be BTB on a larger scale. The BF style of gameplay is just a huge map with vehicles that needs players to at least kind of work together to win. That is BTB in a nutshell. Sure, BTB is obviously a smaller scale, but with the size of the maps in Halo 4 (which, if you look at nearly any other forum on here, are considered far too large already) the player count is just right. You’re never going to get the big 28-64 player matches you have in BF in Halo, it’s just not the way this game plays.

If you could get it to work, it would be absolutely amazing!

Ummm. Isn’t that technically what the “Dominion” game mode is anyway?

Could work with the right settings.

No, it wouldn’t, because BF3 achieves it’s speed of gameplay through fast kill times, 1-hit-kill weapons in loadouts, Snipers, the ability to fly or spawn at your choosing, revive, grant ammo, etc.

No weapon pickups and stuff that majkes Halo Halo.

warfare with vehicles… are we not already playing that?

Halo Wars had no weapon pickups either. It was still a Halo game.

It doesn’t have to be a traditional Halo FPS in order to take place in the Halo universe. I see no reason why the OP’s idea couldn’t work. In fact, I could see the Halo universe work in a Project Reality or even Elder Scrolls type game, and many other things. Heck, even a Sims type game could work.

Well, that was an RTS, theres no RTS out there that I know of that has weapon pickups.

The only thing I desperately want Halo to take from Battlefield is the option for a first person view in vehicles!

Exactly.

Yay!

If Halo Wars could work as a console RTS, then Halo could work as a “Battlefield” style game. (It would have to be a side-game.)
Halo already has a ton of vehicles, a lot of which would work in a “Battlefield” style game were created for Halo Wars.
Add in some sort of class system and weapon modification/variants and massive maps with large player population and BOOM! “Battlefield”-style game set in the Halo universe.
Instead of Spartans, the player characters are Marines or Army. Maybe make a Spartan class that you need to unlock through points or something.
Halo isn’t just one thing. Halo Wars proved that the game franchise could be easily expanded into different genres. I actually would very much welcome a Halo title that put us in the boots of some UNSC Marine grunts.

I think if they introduced massive open maps and concentrated on vehicle battle with platforms that were new and exciting you would have something. Basically make an updated Chrome Hounds/Battlefront hybrid based in the Halo Universe.

Ditto this.
