> SNIPER RIFLE
> Sniper Rifle ammo has been reduced from 12 total bullets to 8. This change was made to reduce the “snowball” effect that allowed teams to swing a match in the favor and accelerate their advantage throughout the remainder of the game.
> SPNKR ROCKET LAUNCHER
> SPNKr Rocket Launcher ammo has been reduced for 4 total rockets to 2. Much like the Sniper Rifle, this change was made to reduce the “snowball” effect on the maps it was present on. These new changes should still give the wielders an advantage, but limits the window of time in which they’re dominant on the map.
I do not like these changes because you have more ammo before was better because you had more ammo to kill people.
That’s the point, if one guy can horde all of the ammunition it makes sense to limit it. It can still be countered pretty easily though, all you do is completely unload and burn through sniper ammo and pick up the rifle at the enemy’s spawn as a reload the second it appears. Honestly it’s not a common tactic but it works in so many situations. Whenever I kill a sniper, I pick up their weapon and unload it ASAP. 9 times out of 10 it’s not even aimed at anything. It might sounds stupid but denying an enemy team their overwatch for a few minutes erodes their offense. Burning your sniper ammo and picking up theirs as a replacement accomplishes the same ends, assuming they don’t kill you and take it.

I am not that good at sniping but i love the rocket but also my main power weapon with the most kills is a energy sword. Edit the more i think the sniper change is god because they can’t always spawn kill you when you are at the main base.

Yeah, I was just checking out your weapons and vehicles used and I saw you really enjoy using the sword haha

I’m pretty sure these changes are exclusively for the HCS playlist. They don’t want power weapons to take over a match in a mode that should be aimed more at individual skill. Plus the HCS was running into instances of having multiple snipers/rockets on the map due to the amount of ammo in them. I feel like these are good changes. Teams that are down can use them to gain momentum, but it’s not a full swing. Will be interesting to see the effect on something like this at Orlando.
These changes never really bothered me that much. If anything, it’s reinforcing the fact that you must use these weapons carefully or you’ll end up wasting them.

so is mine, the rocket ammo change won’t really affect me i don’t pick it up in arena in WZ i don’t get the basic one.
The pasting feature isn’t working for me so I can’t link the article, but this change is only for the HCS playlist.
I kind of wish we had a settings update with BTB though. Traffic Jam is a good example of a map that doesn’t need two snipers or at least have less ammo in them.

This change doesn’t affect the Warzone Weapons. This is ONLY for the HCS Playlist.

all of arena i just went in to super fiesta and I spawned with a sniper it had 8 ammo left.
High level competitive matches will often have the “snowball” effect due to the large amount of power weapon ammo. Meaning teams who have secured the weapons have too much of an advantage. This is a concept MLG dealt with as well in Halo 3 & Reach.
