“If you have the Power Setting for your Xbox One set to “Instant On”, you’ll automatically download the update on 22nd October, so it’s ready for launch.”
This is for people who bought it digitally only

Thank you for the heads up! Usually I don´t have my Xbox set to this. But for that 9GB patch, I think it´s worth it to switch

Then you have to download the patch on your first start up of the game after 12AM on the 27th of October.

Yeah for people who have pre ordered the physical game, once you’ve installed the disc you’ll be prompted to download the patch

Post-gold bug fixes, content updates and other minor changes. Day One patches are easier on the developers, as they usually give them time to perform minor stress testing on the game before it hit the shelves, then fix any issues in the patch.

I guess they work on the Multiplayer stuff until the last possible minute. There´s always a gap between the “we have to press these BluRay game discs” moment and the games release date.
Will it auto-download if you have the digital copy loaded/pre-ordered? Hope so.

It should just say ‘updating’ on your preorder in games & apps

The last info on that was, that it will only download it before the release, if your Xbox One is set to “Instant On” mode. The download with that setting will start on Oct. 22nd. Otherwise, you will have to download the patch on Oct. 27th. And who wants that?! Exactly, no one
