98,000 viewers - HCS Winter

Who said Microsoft was using it to gauge interest? Anyone with a couple’a brain cells to rub together knows this isn’t for their knowledge. They have the metrics.

But we don’t. This is the best we got.

Imo we can’t guess within reasonable accuracy as to how to population of the game is holding up. We only have the Steam numbers for now. Halo having always been an Xbox only title could mean the Xbox numbers are far higher than PC, but there lies the problem; we’re now making assumptions instead of using real data. In regards to the E-sports team there’s multiple variables at play that impact it’s accuracy such as what reason people are watching? Are they active players, are they just wanting the drop for later when the quality of the game improves, or are the just a fan of E-sports in general?

Does it matter? They’re players watching for something to use in the game. A pose! Which you only see if you win games or view profiles.

So I’d guess more than half of these folks play or intend to play regularly.

93,000 by the way.

I have to ask, why do people WANT Infinite to fail?

You’re making a lot of assumptions based on stream viewers, yet you chastise anyone making their assumptions based on Steam numbers. You kinda suck.

I’d imagine, because the transition from packaged product to F2P has been only a negative, so far.

Yes, that was my point.

NOT a CLUE. I guess to confirm 343i sucks and force Microsoft to get another company to make Halo, but people don’t realize Bungie won’t ever touch it again lmao. I would rather have 343i than modern Bungie anyway, they are legitimately LESS cutthroat.

Yes, yes I do. Someday everyone on the forums will learn that.

They’ve wanted the failure since 4’s launch. Also, the F2P has been a financial net positive for 343i+Microsoft.

And yet, the data we see says: 97,000 viewers.

I’d reiterate, but that seems pointless. Pretty much still this.

Well, we’re at 68k, and a lot of people got their drops. We seemed to have peaked juuuuuust under 100k. But! The Finals are not live QUITE yet. Let’s see how many we can get.

and probably all of them were watching to see how many times the would game crash

You’re one of the most unpleasant and cynical people on here.

why do you think ppl watch nascar lol

definitely not the most unpleasant. but yes, I’m cynical and I’m also a realist.

How much you wanna bet atleast 98.5% of all those viewers are in it for the cosmetics?

Probably, which was never the point I was trying to make?

Probably about 75k tuned in to the final across Twitch and YouTube. If we’re talking stats, that’s 3.75% of the 20 million that have apparently played this game.

D0DGER says that if there are 98.000 viewers at the same time, there are minimum 98.000 active Halo Infinite players.

In D0DGERS opinion it would not matter that

  • the viewer count dropped from peak over 160.000 players to 98.000 players,
  • viewbots in Triple AAA events are a well known and common issue nowadays,
  • people might just watch for the coating, but are not active anymore (until the game is fixed),
  • people just watch it for the sake of e-sports.
