man that was a
completely insane reply
Dude, take a deep breath.
Now I know there’s many opinions to be had about the state of Halo but let’s not be hateful.
I’m sure we can discuss Halo without the weirdly specific comments about one’s gender. ![]()
Marks the first time I was called a groomer on this site, which is wild. Certainly not at all welcome though.
This user explained it all very nicely: https://forums.halowaypoint.com/t/halo-infinite-qol-issues-and-its-lack-of-identity/550055
It’s about Infinite’s QoL and style. This game just doesn’t feel good or fun, visually and auditory, and it is anti social. It doesn’t matter that there’s customization - it’s all fireworks, flowers and glowing. We should be playing to shoot and kill stuff, in Halo’s good ol’ goofy style, not glow like fabulous Spartans on a cat walk and in plastic maps with plastic weapons.
I don’t know much about MCC (although I have all the games I don’t have the time these days to play more), but I’ll tell you about Halo CE (Combat Evolved + Custom Edition). There was lag there as well, sometimes a LOT. But, I could often feel it and I could even calculate it. I had even learned to shoot 3 meters away with my sniper rifle and headshot people while having 300ms ping. Or, in other cases I’d be playing normally and I’d see the laggers teleporting, but they wouldn’t be a threat to anyone. Moreover, I could get a taste of what the ping would be like before joining the game, because there was a Custom Games Browser with all the information available.
But what is happening in Infinite, is a different beast. I may not feel the lag and I may believe that the game is playing out normally, and then I’ll die inside a room from an AR although I managed to run through the doorway in time! That’s more frustrating. Desync, yeah.
Yeah. That kind of behavior shouldn’t be encouraged. After all, this is just an argument for the sake of arguments. I mean, this post is just discussing the view count of a stream that happened nearly 2 weeks ago.
I just don’t get the hostility.
